Pardon Me

Please excuse my lovely iPhone photos – today is one of those "rush, rush, study, test" type days 🙂

We got in some good EarthFare studying and broke for lunch at 12:45. I couldn’t decide between soup and salad bar. I wanted the warmth of soup and the filling chew of a salad. So I compromised with some selections from the hot bar!

One side of my plate is a salad with sprouts, peppers, spinach, broccoli, carrots, tofu, butternut squash, tortellini and a few noodles. The other quadrants are filled with about 1/4 a cup of baked beans and hot collard greens and green beans! Everything tasted great – except the green beans were awfully buttery 😉 The apple cider collards were awesome.

photo (1)

Also got some Gypsy Coconut Chai tea in honor of the rainy day. It’s scrumptious.

Lauri has a bite of pumpkin bread for us to share for dessert 😉

Nuttzo Available!

If you’re interested, the Open Sky guys got the Nuttzo up in my shop super fast. 2 jars for $21. I know it’s a bit pricy, so only get it if you’re a big fan of super duper crunch! But don’t forget you also get 10% off with the KATH code. That helps a little

 this !

Test time!

That looks like such a hearty, healthy lunch to warm your tummy on a day like today. I’m starting to crave more warm food than cold- so interesting how quickly the weather effects our food choices, energy, sleep, etc.

And now I want some collard greens!

It’s so funny, I wouldn’t describe salad as having “chew” so much as light volume. But I guess it does compared to soup. I SO love soup though. Looks like you made an excellent compromise. 🙂

I love the Salad Bar at Whole Foods. My salad bowl with all the extra trimmings 🙂 weighs around 2 pounds. It keeps me full most of the day. It better for the price. Good thing I only go about 2x a month.
