Pace Education

Foodblog-07

These past two days have left me exhausted! Between my normal workload periods of sitting, I’ve been exerting myself in some major nesting, errands, appointments, and other on-my-feet things. I think I need to just sit on the couch for a day to recuperate. Or wear orthotics while I’m up! I’m one of those who has trouble sitting still for too long, and I think my body is just plain out tired these days from carrying around extra weight and working on fattening up the baby these last few weeks at the same time!

Nevertheless, you guys told me that if I could still go to Body Pump and go on hour walks I didn’t deserve a special parking spot, so I passed this sign on by and parked in the regular one!

Between Amazon.com and Babies R Us, we now have everything we need for our bundle of joy to arrive!! It was so fun to pick out the last things. I’m going to do a feature post on BERF next week on the final items we bought. I just have a load or two of laundry to do and a hospital bag to pack and we are ready with a month to go!

Foodblog--5

I also ran to Motherhood Maternity to pick up a few nursing camis. I checked Target and their stock was terrible, then searched the internet and found lots of bad reviews. I should have just started with Motherhood! I’ve had nothing but great experiences in that store. Today they were buy-3-get-1-free!! Score!

Foodblog-3146

Now could someone please explain to me the proper positioning of this triangular piece of fabric!? I can’t quite figure out where it goes…on the side? Up the middle? Underneath!?

Foodblog-3147

Part of the reason my legs are beat this evening is because we walked downtown for Fridays tonight!

Foodblog-3154

Per usual, we wanted to pack a dinner to enjoy there. Matt said he is tired of “stupid bean salads in tupperware” so his idea was eat-in-the-hand calzones!!

Foodblog-3157

Quite genius if you ask me ; ) He made the dough at the bakery today with his typical whole wheat crust. [FYI, I just updated the recipe with volume and a much easier-to-follow method!!]

Foodblog-3152

Stuffed inside was homemade tomato sauce, green pepper, fresh tomato and cheddar cheese!

Foodblog-3158

Foodblog-3156

Allow Matt to show you how we ate them:

Foodblog-3159

It looked huge, but it was also thin, and I ate nearly the whole thing!

Foodblog-3166

Saved a little room for a treat Karen brought by – a baked peach wrapped in bacon and stuffed with goat cheese! Maybe if we wait patiently she will post her recipe method in the comments

 this !

Foodblog-3169

Dark clouds loomed, but that meant a nice breeze and cooler temps! We hung around with our friends Rob and Seamane until my legs gave out and we walked home.

Foodblog-3155

Now about that couch!!

Okay, I must have been using it incorrectly, but I always put that piece of fabric over my nipples! I thought that it was so the nipples didn’t poke out of the cami. Maybe it has multiple purposes….

hahaha. yeah, go for the spot only if it would make you laugh. coming from a pump class and parking close to the door. but it’s true! it’s there for YOU, missy.

your friday out looks like a blast as usual. I almost passed on going out with my dad, but the thunder was a fake-out, and it only rained a few minutes.

I am with you on the couch pass out. I just crawled into bed for a little party of five before I shut off the lights. happy weekend!

buy 3 get 1 free on anything is a great deal and you will go thru so many camis and bras – things just leak, get spit up upon, spill, post partum sweats; never changed shirts so many times as i did in the early days (and no one ever told me all of this) so just my way of saying, your 4-some of cami’s will come in handy!

I love the Target nursing camis. I wore them every day under every shirt I wore for ~14 months x2 kids. To be fair, I’ve only tried the Bravado ones and the Target ones. I did not care for Bravado.

Don’t forget to pack one in your hospital bag, it’s nice to wear it under the gown so you don’t feel totally naked when you have guests.

The fabric goes around the edge of the outside of your boob (not over it at all). So when you unclip the panel you don’t lose your strap. Any nursing bra or cami that doesn’t have that connection when you unclip it is useless because you immediately lose the strap.

I did not understand that sign at first … at the targets here in Canada and the mall there are “Expectant Mothers and Parents with Small Children” parking signs … and I was like – how could babies r us not include parents with small children on that sign?!

And then it hit me – probably because 99% of the people who walk into that store have babies with them – they would run out of close parking spots quickly! haha

Went into a babies r us for the first time two weeks ago to search for a baby shower gift – wow. WOW! What a place! So many cool and helpful things I didn’t even know existed!

Just mixed up Matt’s pizza dough. Thanks for giving measurements in grams, as I prefer to measure that way when baking. I have both Diamond and Morton kosher salt and neither one of them were 6 grams at 1 1/2 t. What kind of kosher salt do you use? I just went with 1 1/2 t of Diamond.

Already mixed up the dough this morning, so I’ll try the full 6g next time. I’m not getting much rise during the ferment, I wonder if the dough should be rising more?
I’ve tried many different dough recipes and haven’t found one that works really well for me, yet. But, I’d rather eat “stupid bean salads” and only keep trying with the pizza because my husband really likes it.

Those spots are needed AFTER the baby arrives….especially if you have other children. We have some that are for “expectant mothers and new parents with children”. They have extra room on the side to wrangle your crew and get everyone situated, baby in the cart or stroller, hands held. I appreciate them being close because walking through a parking lot with children is anxiety-ridden as people fly down the aisles and pull out of spots without even looking. That’s when they REALLY come in handy!

I particularly loved the full bust tanks cause they had a bit of puckering/ruching in between the boobs so kinda drew attention away from possible drips or…..sorry for the tmi perky nipples if you aren’t using breast pads after awhile.
