Hormones, Go Back To Sleep

Foodblog-3176

My eyes opened at 6 for a typical roll over.

My body (and the squirmer inside) said “time to wake up!!”

I knew I wasn’t going to be able to go back to sleep because my brain immediately cheered: “Go wash your new things so you can nest some more! Time to pack your hospital bag!”

I have a month until my due date and this is what my brain wants me to do at 6am on a Saturday morning? Hormones, go back to sleep.

Needless to say I’m feeling really tired right now. I didn’t make my bed because I might get back in it!

Foodblog-3181

I’ve been craving pancakes all week, so with my extra morning time I whipped up a batch of Kodiak cakes topped with both almond and sunflower butter, chia seeds and coconut. Plus some of those sweet maple flakes on top. They are like maple crunchy sprinkles.

Foodblog-3179

These plums were the only fruit in our house. Not my ideal pancake accompaniment, but I can’t do a breakfast without fruit!

Foodblog-3182 Foodblog-3189

4 for 4 for Earl Grey! So glad I finally just bought a box.

Foodblog-3185

Have a good day – or nap!

i don’t have the nesting going on, but it still blows my mind how my body knows the one day a week i don’t set an alarm, and wakes me up three hours before my hoped-for time.

the kodiak cakes look divine! i might have to change the bfast plan to some cherry pancakes.

happy saturday morning! whether that means nesting or napping… 🙂

Happy Saturday! The whole hormone thing- I’m not a fan! It can help me nest and such, but other days, it leaves me feeling so overwhelmed with all that needs to be done! ….Hospital bag packing is on my list today too!!! Considering I’m dilated- the husband thinks it needs to be done- HA, and I kind of have to agree!!

Cute little plums and hope you can just eat and roll right back over to bed – that would be a great gift. But once my brain is up, I’m up and that going back to bed thing is tricky!

Hey, the hospital bag is our current dilemma. I told Jess she’d only need the “coming home” outfit for the baby. But I guess babies today are stylin’ in the hospital? Still breech so I guess I’ll know when to pack MY bag!

Mmm I’ve been craving pancakes lately too! Maybe they’ll be tomorrow’s breakfast. I was up at 6am as well this morning, but it was to get my long run in before it got too hot. I got back and my entire shirt was soaked, and I felt great (albeit gross) at the time, but now I’m sort of thinking along the same lines as you regarding going back to bed! 🙂

I have been craving pancakes too! I think I will make them this morning. I too can’t have breakfast without fruit. Especially if the breakfast is pancakes. Hope you can take a nap today!

I was craving pancakes…until now. YUM! I picked up some mini plums (they looked like cherries) at the farmer’s market this weekend and really did not like them at all. They weren’t sweet and had a mushy texture. I’m not sure if I just got a bad batch or if that’s the way they are. I like trying new things, but it’s always a bit of a let down when it doesn’t work out! Ohhh welll

I hope you are feeling better from the hormones! Your breakfast does look very tasty. I always like to have fruit with my breakfasts as well. It just makes it taste better! 🙂
