Onion Breath

Man, I really need some gum today :laugh5: That was a test to see how well you guys are reading!

Nate told me that if I’m going to talk about studying for my tests that I have to at least let you guys know if the result was good or bad. Sooo….I got my Biochem test back today. You know how I said some of the problems were hit or miss? I totally missed a big one 🙁 I still did alright overall, but I was not a happy crab this morning

Kelsey and I had another Humpday Potluck.

I brought:

  • GH Dakota buns
  • Leftover Fiesta Broccoli Dip
  • Kashi H2H
  • Pumpkin Butter

Kelsey brought:

  • Avocado
  • Cheese
  • Pineapple + mango
  • TJ’s greek

Since yesterday’s Broc Guac was more of a Southwest dip, I took today as the opportunity to mash in the avocado and make some real guac. Delish!

IMG_4007 (800x600)

IMG_4012 (800x600)

The cheese (here for the brand). It was like manchego, which I lurve.

IMG_4008 (800x600)

The fruit.

IMG_4011 (800x600)

The yogurt + cereal + pumpkin butter blend

IMG_4009 (800x600)

IMG_4006 (800x600)

I’m still a little hungry, but I think that’s my cue to chug water. In an emergency, I’ve got a grapefruit and fun bars to rely on.

Two classes down, two to go!

:P

I thought you said that if you got hungry you had “fun bags” to rely on. Now that would be something.

    LOL Sarah.

Looks like a great lunch party! My bf made a big batch of guacamole for me to bring into work today because we had avocados and cilantro that was going to die before we could eat it. Our poor planning = snacks for my colleagues 🙂

“ONION BREATH”. I missed that line in your morning post.

Megan- I think greek yogurt is soooo good. It only tastes like sour cream sometimes if you are using an off brand. Start out with Fage, which is a tad pricier but so much thicker and creamier. Try 2%—it is so creamy, and it can be sweetened if you desire a more dessert-like taste. Greek yogurt is also so versatile-mixed with hummus, in smoothies, with pumpkin and pumpkin butter-it’s all so delicious. Dont rule it out completely! Plus, the nutritional stats & satiety levels of gre-yo are impeccable!!!

Have a lovely rest of you day, don’t let your chin fall just because of one test!! You know better than that!! My mom always says, “how one deals with the results of a test is the real test”

Megan- I’m with you. I used to love Greek yogurt and jumped on the blog bandwagon that raves about it. Then my taste buds woke up or something and I realized- this tastes like sour cream. And yes I have bought the 0 percent plain, 2 percent plain, 2 percent with honey, etc. It tastes like sour cream (and yes even Fage, which I liked best. Oikos is nasty and Chobhani take it or leave it). Period. So now I stick with my supermarket Lucerne yogurt- low-fat, 90 calories, not that much sugar (15 grams>) and yummy flavors. Also, it’s cheap-. 60 cents versus $1.99 for a small container of Greek. Tastes awesome with my oats in the morning. I’ll probably try Greek again, but for now I’m going to watch my pennies (which no one seems to do in blog world) and eat my Vanilla Lucerne.

    rhodeygirl ,
No, not really. As much as I love my multi-component lunches, I actually think having a huge bowl of something (like an EarthFare salad or soup) is more filling. But it does all depend.

    Fancy ,
We’re not moving in the near future. The idea of opening a Great Harvest franchise (possibly in Charleston) has been seriously tossed around. But not until I am finished with my R.D. at the soonest, and we’d need to figure out if we could even get the finances to make it happen. But it’s a dream of Matt’s and I hope we can make it happen!

    jenna ,
GH = Great Harvest Bread Co. where Matt works.

    michelle (PinQue),
