Oatmeal Sunrise

IMG_9834Blog

The sun didn’t rise until breakfast was made. Guess she was on the hunt for a bowl of oats to start her day!

IMG_9835Blog

Every morning when I wake up I consider what to have for breakfast. Sometimes I have a plan already – overnight oats or a special food brought home like a muffin to dictate what I have. But most mornings I decide in bed. Not that oatmeal isn’t very healthy, but I always think: “A big fruity smoothie would be a great way to start today.”

And then I get up. Hunger hits with a bang. And all that sounds good are huge bowls of oats, muffin and nut butter! I’ve always had a hearty morning appetite, and oatmeal is always the best solution for it. Stick to your ribs!

IMG_9832Blog

Today’s bowl was Coach’s oats with pumpkin stirred in at end, plus half a banana, chia seeds, a pinch of salt, 1/2 cup each of water and milk – plus Carrot Raisin Walnut muffin crumbles on top and Wild Squirrel butter.

IMG_9838Blog

Plus – a new totally amazing tea by Adagio that I ordered – Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream! It’s heavenly. Just what you’d hope for!

I love your bright and sunny breakfast photos! The crumbled muffin pieces on top look delicious too, and your tea selection lately has been fantastic! I’m a big fan of “dessert” teas.

Did you figure out how to get the foam to stay put?

I can’t seem to be creative at 6am for my breakfast. I’m lucky if I paid attention enough to grab cinnamon rather than cumin when I season my oatmeal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been unlucky!

I’m the exact same way!! I CANNOT get by on anything that isnt super filling in the AM (Although yogurt and dried fruit and nuts works really well too). And, pretty much no matter what I eat, Im always starving the whole morning anyway and HAVE to eat lunch by midday. Basically Im not full until ive eaten about 1000 calories… sometimes I think I should just surrender and have some HUMUNGOUS brunch style thing and be done with it until dinner. Not sure how work would react to me feasting on french toast every morning at 10am though…. Have a great weekend sweet lady!
