Nutz + Oatz

Morning!!

I definitely have a cold, but I think I’m doing well keeping it at bay. Hopefully it doesn’t get any worse! I definitely felt better this morning than I did last night. It’s just been looming. Not really an official cold with symptoms yet.

But this AM, going to the gym and pushing myself on a cardio machine just didn’t make sense.

What did was an hour of breathing, twisting, sweating and detoxifying with Dave Farmar. I brought in the space heater (and blew a fuse!) and had a great yoga session. Dave Farmar‘s podcasts are better for the seasoned yogi because you have to know the names of the poses, but his beginners version on YogaDownload is good for those who want to get into yoga. Dave is great!

Shower — > OIAJ!

Completely Nuttzo.

  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds

Stirred in at end:

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese
  • Cinnamon + vanilla

Topped with some hemp plus granola

Hi Kath, love your morning coffee shapes, so fun. 🙂
I know you are a big wheatberry fans, so I wanted to share this random recipe I just made this morning for breakfast:

    1/2 cup of cooked wheatberries
1 pear cup up, or an apple might be better
1 of those mini cups of sugar free apple sauce
    sprinkle cinnamon
    sprinkle pumpkin pie spice
    microwave for 1-2 minutes

delish, similar to a pear/apple crisp
*next time, I’m thinking some kind of nutbutter might be nice with it as well.

Do you ever make your own granola? It is so easy especially using the bulk section at the grocery store. I found recipe last year that I adapted to my taste and I make a big batch which I freeze in small portions to enjoy over Greek yogurt, oatmeal, or alone with milk. Yum!
