Lunching, Crunching

My day is going by fast! Love that!!

I have a love | hate relationship with offices.

Sometimes I love having computer access, wearing nice clothes, listening to the radio, having a space to put all my stuff, and Word processing (today I designed a flyer in Publisher and am researching okra for an article).

But other times I haaaate office environments. They are so sterile and boring! And I find that times flies when I work with my hands instead of at a desk.  I also like being out in the world and interacting with people in the sunshine (if we ever get sunshine again!)

Today is a good day though 🙂

Breakfast was so filling that it held me over no problemo all morning long. I could have gone longer till lunch, but I was too excited to eat 😉

I took these photos as I packed my lunch last night. Wish it hadn’t been dark already!

In the lunchbox:

A slice of Great Harvest Flax Oat Bran with a Laughing Cow to be spread on-site

IMG_6531 (640x427) IMG_6530 (640x427)

Oikos + granoler

IMG_6526 (640x427)

A small spinach salad with almonds and a baby jar of balsamic vinegar to add on-site (gotta get in the veg!)

IMG_6524 (640x427) IMG_6523 (640x427)

And a furry kiwi. Yes I eat the skin. Yes it’s good! It will not bite! [I do not, however, eat the nubs on the end!]

Little silverware for little bites

I know what you mean about offices. Ocassionally it is fun to play dress up/feel important, etc.but mostly I start to go nuts after a few hours. I used to think something was wrong with me because all of my friends and classmates wanted to do something stationary, while I ended up waiting tables. Give me tables over paperwork anyday!
I tried the 0% fat Greek yogurt thinking I’d hate it, but hey, it is pretty good!

Working at a desk can be pretty zzz but it’s all I’ve ever known so am kind of used to it. I liked it a lot more when our internet access was less restricted…katheats is an “access denied” site in my workplace when they restricted some sites…I’m not quite sure what was going on there but it’s actually quite random what they’ve banned and what they’ve let us keep. Oh well, internet in work is a “privilege not a right” bla bla 😉

So… what do you think of them health wise, as opposed to a normal cheese? I don’t think they’re really all that processed but I could be wrong. They’re convenient for the dorm but I stopped getting them after I wasn’t sure if it was closer to real cheese or velveeta. They don’t taste too bad though! I totally agree with office life. I returned to work as a part time contractor and am doing boring office work. For several months I loved it but then it started becoming a drag. The only thing that keeps me going some days is the coffee, tea and breakfast (which I pack) and lunch. Today I got to spend many hours on my feet doing manual labor in a refrigerated room and it was awesome ROFL! My co-workers thought I was nutz.

When I worked in an office environment some days would seem so long because I was tied to my desk all day. i totally get you with the office love/hate relationship. For years I worked at a living history museum in the summer, where i worked interpreting to visitors and essentially playing house in a historic costume. Outside a lot and really enjoyed it. I even did a supervisor position there where I walked around outside all day and talked to the staff. Some days it was draining and i would hide in my terrible office without a window… that being said, having never had a truly 100% office job, i don’t know if i could do it!!

I love Laughing Cow cheese especially with bread or crackers! You pack such great lunches. I always get stuck in a rut with the same old boring sandwich.
I would never be able to work in an office job. I need to be up and doing things and working with people hands-on. Good thing I am finishing a degree in teaching!

You just reminded me to pick up some more Laughing Cow. They pack so much flavor for so few calories. LOVE!
