March Puddles Bring April Showers

IMG_7756Blog

A delicious bowl of oats topped with a puddle of Sunbutter to start this cloudy morning right.

IMG_7757Blog

In the bowl: 1/3 cup oats + milk, 2/3 cup water (part of the key to volume!), chia seeds, vanilla, pinch salt, 1/3 cup cottage cheese, half banana, 2 giant sliced strawberries, Sunbutter melt.

IMG_7759Blog

Vanilla Rooibos tea on the side

IMG_7762Blog

I’ve actually been suffering through a headache since yesterday afternoon and just decided to take a Tylenol. Hoping some exercise helps the blood flow the pain away.

Have a great Hump Day!

Your oatmeal looks good, especially the Sunbutter puddle! I had an almost-empty Sunbutter jar and made overnight oats last night – delicious. I’ve never looked forward to almost-empty nut butter jars so much, haha. Hope your headache goes away – I can’t believe it lasted through the night! You’re probably already doing this, but make sure to stay hydrated; I think dehydration is probably my biggest cause of headaches.

Rainy and cloudy here in Nebraska and I’ve had a headache all week. Exercise certainly should help in some way. Also, water and rest in a dark quiet room seemed to help when I had a headache while pregnant. Hope you feel better and the sun shines soon!

I still haven’t tried cottage cheese in my overnight oats! I think I am nervous of the texture and that it will taste salty?! Looks so good though and is a great way to mix it up!

Me too! But I’m curious every time I see it here.

Also, I really like cottage cheese, but it’s not something we buy often (and I try not to do TOO much dairy, in general). I think my curiosity will win out one of these days though.

I guess all of us Nervous Nellies could just try adding cottage cheese to a small portion of the bowl — that way there’s not much to lose or waste if it’s not our thing 🙂

I had a wicked headache two nights ago…I blame this wacky weather sysytem! I know when the barometric pressure jumps my head swells! The Chinooks in Calgary would paralyse me…literally could not open my eyes or function…rest in a dark place with plenty of water and peace and quiet! Good luck!

At about 12 weeks I started getting terrible headaches in my pregnancy. They got much better at 20 weeks. Now at 22 weeks they only come if I am tired, dehydrated or too hungry. I took Tylenol and a little caffeine/a lot of protein helped a lot. My son seems to want nothing but protein 😀

I hope your headache has gone away by now; no fun to have for sure.

Your oatmeal looks great and makes me hungry. I have never tried sunbutter but I am sure it is a good addition. I think oatmeal is one of those universally good foods that not only tastes good but is also good for you.

I am on my way to do some grocery shopping so hopefully after looking at some of the things on here will motivate me to make better and more healthy selections at the store.

Thanks for providing this site; I find it very interesting and helpful.

    Have a great evening!
