King Cake Alarm

Somehow we managed to sleep for 10 hours last night!? We were awoken by a friendly alarm clock: Matt’s brother Andrew calling from New Orleans at 8am to let us know he was on a nice walk home from a night of partying. That wild monkey!

weightsIIBlog

I made a smashing bowl of oats today!!! I say I because Matt removed his oats from the pot before I stirred in the pumpkin. He still says he doesn’t fancy the orange mix-in!

I got sleep too….but from over-sleeping, which I really shouldn’t do because it is really time that a lot could be accomplished.

    I think Matt’s brother had a funner night 🙂

Fun question! My mom always called them “tea towels.’ I googled it, and it said a tea towel is a cloth for drying dishes, either linen or cotton. I have a hunch “tea towel” is more old timey. I hope it doesn’t die away though–a sweet expression.

I think a tea towel is used for drying and a dish towel is a wash-cloth like thing you use as a sponge in the sink?

I love Mardi Gras! Just something about it. St. Louis has the 2nd biggest celebration in the country (after NOLA of course), and it’s going on right this very second, but I’ve been sick the past couple weeks and now that I’m feeling better, didn’t want to spend the morning drinking, so we stayed home 🙂
