KERF + EARTH = Love

In honor of Earth Day…things KERF does to

this !
the earth:

BIKE EVERYWHERE! [Duh!]

IMG_1014Blog-2

Choose GREEN cleaners. Not only reducing chemicals in our household and Cville’s water supply, but also reducing plastic bottles and the emissions of trucks that would have had to move them.

IMG_4888Blog

We eat lots of delicious vegetarian meals and choose as many local foods as we can:

IMG_7083Blog-2

Enjoy nature, with hikes, walks and picnics

HikeBlog

We RECYCLE [and reduce and reuse]

IMG_8937 - Copy

We have reusable bags growing out of our ears

BLOG-9985

We hold off on air conditioning as long as possible and we turn our heat waaaay down at night

We plant a garden

Nobody can be PERFECT but we can all do our best!

Body Pump today was great – I used extra heavy weights and really challenged myself. And I managed to finish every song through! After class I sweated out a few on the Stairmaster since I didn’t get any biking cardio in, and called it lunchtime.

IMG_7442Blog

I had an awesome salad – mostly veggies dressed in olive oil and Cherry Balsamic Vinegar topped with a bean burger from last night, sun-dried tomatoes and cilantro

IMG_7441Blog-2

IMG_7451Blog

And for dessert, a slice of High Five with jam and a smidge of Flying Squirrel PB – Cinnamon!

IMG_7453Blog-2

IMG_7440Blog

The Bears got something fun in the mail today!!

IMG_7458Blog

A card from Grammie Buzz!

IMG_7459Blog-2

They said they actually LOVE tofu and sprouts, but they will be excited to eat some chocolate on Easter, Grammie.

IMG_7466Blog

It’s freezing here today, but Sunday’s forecast has 80* and sunny!

Have a great afternoon!!

“Try to do the best you can” – that’s all anyone can do I guess. The GH bread looks so chewy. Yum-o.

Mind if I ask a question? – in terms of living location – do you look more for a nice house to live in? Or would you settle for something not ideal but in a better location? Like closer to your store, etc.

Do you continue to eat the way you did when you reached your weight goal/were losing weight? Or have you been more lenient after the loss and what do you do to make sure you don’t go back to your starting weight?

I eat better now than I did then, I’d say. More whole foods, more vegetables. I didn’t drink alcohol as often then (but I drank MORE when I did) and I think my meals are slightly bigger now (then I was packing a lunch for work everyday and ate a sandwich with yogurt, pretzels and dark chocolate everyday). If I were to lose now (sometimes I am an you guys just don’t know!) I just cut back on alcohol, dessert and second portions.

So in other words your main focus now is to eat wholesome and healthily rather than losing weight? I think this method is more beneficial, for our mental health as well!

I see you drink O.N.E. coconut water. My favorite is the guava coconut 🙂 Excellent source of potassium, as you know. A few times a year, Kroger places them on sale 10 for $10.

You know I’m thinking about going to a body pump class at ACAC. I haven’t really participated in any moderate activity since I was 6 weeks pregnant. It’s weird, because I used to train year round as a triathlete. I feel a class would give me some discipline. I find it hard to motivate myself with a 5 month old…I’m always lacking sleep. I imagine body pump as an aerobic class requiring coordination. I’ll be the girl in the back moving to her own tune ;P
