Crème de le Crème

Even though I work 7 days a week, there’s still something about Fridays that is really exciting! I do lighten my load on the weekends, but I also think it’s having the rest of the world off that makes me want to join in on the fun!

IMG_7427Blog

Friday cheer!

IMG_7435Blog

For breakfast we made a filling bowl of oatmeal mixed with wheatberries and Traderspoint Banana-Mango Yogurt. I’ve never stirred yogurt INTO oats before for fear that it curdles, but this worked out great!

IMG_7428Blog

Crème de la Crème Oats

In The Pot: [On medium heat, stir till it’s done!]

  • 2 tbsp Scottish oats
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp wheatberries (cooked)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp Banana Mango Yogurt, stirred in at end and cooked for 10 seconds more (I wouldn’t do this with regular yogurt, but since it was a pourable kind, I think it worked better)

Toppings

  • Lynda’s granola crumbles
  • Flying Squirrel PB – Pretzel Pizazz, which is dry and clumpy so it could almost crumble about. Love the CRUNCHY pretzels!!

IMG_7429Blog-2

A fruity tea I found in my tea jar that I did not love. Surprise, surprise.

For a dessert like breakfast treat, chop 1/2-1 oz good dark chocolate on your hot oats and top with a dollop of Greek yogurt. The chocolate melts and is so rich and decadent against the contrast of oats and cold Greek yogurt. Yummmmm…. 🙂

I was wondering if you could add ‘next post’ ‘previous post’ links immediately after each post, before the comments? I have just finished catching up on mere three days of enties, and if one doesn’t wanna read through the comments, it’s a bit of a nuisance to scroll down through dozens of comments, especially if reading on the go, without a mouse. We wouldn’t do that to you! 🙂 To meet high demand, we had to get a bit “creative” with our production tactics, so we slowed it down on the Vanilla for a while. But, it’s back on the line and should be in your stores very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience!

And Kath, can’t believe this is your first time w/ ‘gurt in your oats! You’re the oat QUEEN- thought you’d tried it all! 😉
