Juicy

IMG_1873 (640x427)

Today’s lunch started off with a spinach salad dressed in lemon olive oil and agave with sea salt, black pepper and Garlic Gold Herbed Nuggets. Veggies included carrot, green pepper, and lightly steamed broc. Sooooo refreshing!

IMG_1863 (640x427)

IMG_1862 (640x427)

CHOBANI sent me a surprise pack of flavors!! <3 <3 <3 the pineapple!! Served with a few tbsp of granola and a few chopped almonds.

IMG_1864 (640x427)

Lastly, more of my local strawberries 🙂

IMG_1868 (640x427)

Silverware.

IMG_1871 (640x427)

IMG_1860 (640x427)

I am surprising the RD office with some samples today. Genesis Today sent me these Dark Chocolate Acai puddings and I can’t eat them all on my own, so I’m sharing 🙂 These are made with milk and are all natural. They also are rich in antioxidants from the cacao and acai berry and have 3 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber each. Impressive! Certainly one of the better puddings out there if you’re a pudding eater. I’ll report back tonight how they were received!

IMG_1874 (640x427)

I’m also taking in a juice bar – Genesis Today‘s Goji Berry and Acai (which I have yet to try), a POM (old faithful!) and a new juice: Cheribundi, an all-natural cherry-based drink with 50 cherries per bottle! All of these superfruit juices claim tens of thousands of mg of berry per bottle with an ORAC (antioxidant rating of 3000+). It’s nice to know you’re getting some concentrated nutrients in these little bottles when you don’t have goji or acai berries growing in your backyard. I love juices but I like to use them sparingly due to their concentration of sugar, so I’ll likely spike my afternoon water bottle with some of these for a punch of flavor without the sugar or calories. I also like to use them to spike smoothies!

IMG_1877 (640x427)

Planned afternoon snack – a pudding and a few nuts for garnish!

IMG_1878 (640x427)

IMG_1880 (640x427)

I’m planning to get in that swim I missed on Saturday this afternoon. But I might be too tired from sleeplessness. We’ll see…

I agree with you on the juice front, I have had the same bottle of Simply Orange juice in my fridge for the past month and it’s still only half gone. Must. Use. Juice!

I love using juice to amp up my water bottle! I always knew to water it down, but really had to make it a habit after a bout with gestational diabetes.

Good juice is expensive, but it goes so far if you water it down! Full strength just tastes like pure sugar water to me now!

    Pretty spoon!

    Kath,

I discovered your blog a while ago, and I love it. I have been making many changes to my diet over the last several months and you have been a bit of a resource/inspiration. Making better decisions somehow feels easier when you know that other people are living the same way. You even inspired some oatmeal over at my blog. (http://stillplayinghouse.blogspot.com/2010/03/elvis-oatmeal.html)

How is it that you get so many free samples? Do you request them?
