Inside Out

It is warmer OUTSIDE than it is INSIDE.

Yet, we spent all the morning working on our pajamas.

“Hey have you finished with that insurance yet? I just ordered the sneeze guards.”

IMG_6097Blog

“Yeah, that and I got the copper pipes for cooling the mill flour. By the way, we have a call at 3:30 today about signage.”

IMG_6094Blog

This is our life. Decked out in colorful pajamas.

Someday we will trade them for dough-covered aprons.

We worked until 1pm when I was more than ready for lunch. I went upstairs to change out of PJs into workout clothes (I can’t stand to eat more than 1 meal a day in my pajamas!)

But once I had on my workout clothes I realized that going to the gym later this afternoon sounded horrible on such a beautiful day. So I ate two dates and was out the door running in 5 minutes flat.

I stayed close to home, so as not to push my wacked out foot too much and in case I had to stop to walk. Luckily my foot did great and Matt and I covered about 4 miles in just under 40 minutes. Sweet!!

Then it was time for a 1:45 lunch.

IMG_6113Blog

Welcome back amazing KERF classic salad!!

IMG_6102Blog

The usual:

  • Spinach, carrot, pepper plus extra special cherry tomatoes from Pennsylvania (must be from a greenhouse!?)
  • Honey + olive oil + lavender salt sprinkles
  • The best ever Bleu D’Avergne
  • Food Should Taste Good lime on the side

 IMG_6116Blog

Next door I had a bowl of yogurt (welcome back yogurt!!) topped with pumpkin hummus and toasted walnuts

IMG_6101Blog

Pumpkin hummus you say?!?

IMG_6117Blog

Emily gave me this Crazy Camel Dessert Hummus she received for a freelance project (she had way too many and had frozen them) and my GOSH IT IS DELICIOUS!! You can barely taste the beans – it’s mostly molasses pumpkin spice deliciousness (hence why I put it on yogurt instead of my salad).

IMG_6119Blog

IMG_6115Blog

I was actually happy to be drinking a COLD drink at lunch. That should tell you something about our weather today!

IMG_6107BlogIMG_6110Blog

Now about that 3:30 signage call…

Sometimes it’s nice to hang out in your pjs all morning, but when I do that I almost never get anything done.
    Pjs are the anti-productivity.

Good luck with your call. You sound like you’re a jack of all trades and super busy!

“You can barely taste the beans – it’s mostly molasses pumpkin spice deliciousness”– Good to know! I have almost made my own dessert hummus many times but always wimp out b/c I dont want to eat beans with my dessert. I just want dessert 🙂 If I can’t find that hummus, it gives me inspiration to make my own.

Enough agave/maple, nut butter, cinnamon, etc can make even beans taste amazing, right? 🙂

Averie, I was the same but finally tried it and it is good! A good place to start is chickpeas + PB + Maple syrup, they all have an “earthy” taste that melds well together. I’m too lazy to peel but I do steam the chickpeas first and then add almond milk as needed to get it as smooth as possible which is much yummier. It’s not quit dessert but it is sweet and makes a great dip for sweet fruit like apples and bananas.
