Indoor Outdoor

After wrapping up a project this morning, I decided to check out the group exercise schedule at the gym. I was planning to go swimming, but I just couldn’t stomach getting all wet today. But luckily there was a Cycle class that would work perfectly for my timing!

I ate at date before I left for a bit of quick energy, and because I knew it would be a while before lunch. Dates make the best fuel!

IMG_7832

The cycle class was just OK – but I did have a great time. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the instructor or music, but I loved the bikes, the video screen that showed us biking through South Dakota (!) and also that the class was only 45 minutes. My attention span appreciated that

Thinking smile this !
. Hour-long classes can drag sometimes. It felt good to get my spin on!

But my gosh the bike ride home was tough. My legs are still feeling the burn a bit. On my ride home I realized I should have just biked OUTdoors rather than indoors! It’s so nice out. But then the fact that two different buses kept getting in my way reminded me why sometimes indoor cycle is nice : )

Once home, we made a hot lunch!

IMG_7854

I bought some green beans and mushrooms that had yet to be claimed, so they went into lunch instead of having a side salad.

IMG_7833

Matt sautéed them up with two small zucchini with Garlic Gold nuggets and some herbs plus some toasted walnuts!

IMG_7834 IMG_7837

And with my leftover salmon from dinner last night, this lunch was quite the treat!

IMG_7848

<3 capers, salmon, goat cheese AND Dakota bread!!

IMG_7841

We dined outdoors and noticed – THE LEAVES ARE FALLING OFF THE TREES!!

That’s funny you were biking through South Dakota. I used to live in SD and it is pretty flat, except the western side is hilly! I wish it was still nice enough here to eat outside!

I used to not eat dates…because I thought they looked like cockroaches. Boy was I missing out! Love them now…alone or with some almond or peanut butter!

Congratulations on being featured on Fox News iMag!! That’s totally awesome. I agree with you 100% about spinning classes–my attention starts to flag around the 45-minute mark, so a 45-minute class would be perfect! Enjoy your beautiful fall weather–it’s freezing here in San Francisco!

I am with you on spin class – my absolute cut-off is 50 minutes. And even then I start getting pretty bored around minute 40. Also, I must now go buy smoked salmon, stat. It’s been three weeks since my last bite.

I’d definitely go for the outdoor cycling over the indoor given the beautiful fall weather, but I have been stuck in the annoying situation of playing leap frog with buses. I have to make myself remember that I LIKE buses, because they’re another non-car method that I can use to get places, especially useful when the weather’s not so nice for biking 🙂
