Hot Run, Cold Shower

G’afternoon guys!

I just finished up a nice late lunch. I spent the morning working and wrapped up around 12:30. I was getting a little hungry but thought I could fit in a quick 45 minute run before lunch. I must have underestimated my hunger because once I got out there I really struggled! I don’t know if it was lack of fuel, the heat, or just the day, but I felt like I was running in slow motion. I arrived home and found Matt home (he gets off earlier on weeks when he works Saturdays!) and plopped down on the floor in front of him red in the face –

Then I took a freezing cold shower and felt better.

Speaking of running, I got an email from Girls On The Run that one of the girls, Bailey, is a finalist for ESPN’s Earn Your Stripes Youth Achievement Award. Vote for Bailey and support GOTR here!! I hope I can get out there and run with the girls again in the coming semesters!

I just finished this delicious replenishing lunch –

IMG_7442 (1024x768)

A harmony bowl of chopped cucumber, peppers, steamed kale, baby pickle, ~1/3 cup pinto beans, 2 tbsp goat cheese in a lemon juice, salt, dill, mustard, olive oil dressing

IMG_7441 (1024x768)

And PB2 yogurt. ~1/2 a cup of yogurt with 2 tbsp PB2 and some peanuts for garnish

IMG_7445 (1024x768)

IMG_7446 (1024x768)

And the sweetest plum ever!

IMG_7440 (1024x768)

Whenever I use a lemon in a meal I put the shell in my water 🙂

IMG_7443 (1024x768)

This was one of those perfect lunches in taste + texture + satiety

IMG_7439 (1024x768)

Especially when you include a little piece of chocolate for dessert!

To-Do:

  • More Nutrition Specialists work
  • A little time with Matt
  • Read all of your wonderful me&goji entries!
  • Trip to Best Buy to see if I can get 1) A $99 refund or 2) the new iPhone. Turns out I bought mine ON May 19th so I don’t know if that fits in the 30 days of June 19th!

I hear they aren’t giving current iphone users any breaks on the new one. I’ve had mine for a year and if I want to upgrade early I have to pay the 399 for the phone…which I am so not doing. Suckage! But I am excited about picture text messages 😛

Best Buy has a 30 day return policy, so that’s how i would get around it.

I think you’ll like the me&gogji stories. I was reading through them earlier and they’re great!

I’m always the one at a restaurant who orders “water with lemon, please.” And a meal’s just not complete without something a little sweet at the end!

Best Buy has a 30 day return policy on the phone but it’s about your AT&T contract too, which you may not be able to cancel. My friend ran into the same issue – no luck because you can’t cancel your contract without paying the fee. Let us know if you have better luck so I can tell her!

What a great salad to replenish your strength after that run! Good job on sticking out that run to the finish… sometimes you just have to push yourself to keep going! Keep that water coming! 🙂

PB2 in yogurt is my FAVORITE! That’s basically the only way I eat it haha!

Good luck with the iphone dealio… I’d totally protest if they didn’t give you an upgrade! 😉

anyway, I helped coach a GOTR group at the Lake Norman YMCA my sophomore year. Are you helping out with a group or just running with them in their big run? I think it’s a really cool organization/idea and really enjoyed working with the kids.

I was wondering if you were gonna do something about your iphone! I hope they let you do one of those 2 options! My bf is going nuts over getting the new one. I haven’t seen him this excited in a long time! Hope it all works out! It is already topping 95 in Texas. I can no longer run outdoors!

    Katherine ,
Just shrink the photos and put them together.

    Heather,
Go with the smaller so the computer will be easier to transport.

    Adventures of Alice,
Aliiiice! Hey! I coached last fall and had to take the spring off due to my class schedule. They canceled their summer sessions, but I’m hoping to do it again in the fall.

    Tammy ,
Yes, I suppose I could. Check out the kale chip recipe on the sidebar for that one though – it’s a good one!
