Home Of The Range

Afternoon happenings included a hurrrcut!

2012-03-14 16.22.55Blog

Followed by ice cream for a snack! This was birthday cake from Chaps and SOO GOOD!

2012-03-14 16.34.50Blog

And a lovely walk downtown and back

2012-03-14 16.47.18Blog

And then – we welcomed in the new stove!

IMG_7497Blog

[Old stove. It was sad to say goodbye because it was in a magazine with me!]

IMG_7436Blog IMG_9077Blog

But the new stove is a beauty with FIVE burners – two super burners – and cool features like self cleaning!

IMG_7492BlogIMG_7494Blog

I was about to say “This is the first brand new un-used stove I’ve ever baked in!!”

….But that IS NOT TRUE!

Does anyone remember this accident of 2008!?

DSC06530 this !

That resulted in us buying a new stove for our old house!?

DSC06663

So this is actually stove #2 for us! [Love that this one is flush with the countertop!]

IMG_7498Blog

Farewell white stove [we are donating it via a friend]

IMG_7499Blog

After stove receiving, I put on shorts and went on a walk with my friend Eileen!! What’s sad is that I put on my two biggest pairs of non-maternity shorts and they did not fit!! They buttoned, but they were way too tight in the waist. Luckily I buy maternity clothes before I need them, so I pulled out the lovely paneled shorts for the first time. So comfy! But the flesh color is so gross looking! [Stomach is a-growin’ this week!]

IMG_7504Blog

After our walk, Matt and I assembled dinner.

IMG_7509Blog

Good ole sardine salad [using sardines in lemon olive oil] with Food Should Taste Good lime chips for dipping. Matt minced a carrot and put in mustard and mayo. It’s been a long time since I had sardines and I’m supposed to be having them at least once a week for nutrition!

IMG_7513BlogIMG_7510Blog

The baked sweet potato was perfectly baked in the new oven! 400* for 40 minutes.

IMG_7512Blog

And we had lemony green beans on the side.

IMG_7511Blog

IMG_7505Blog

My stomach is alternating between being really full and really hungry. I can’t decide which it is – and if I should have a HS snack.

Mmm, that dinner looks delicious, but I think the ice cream looks even tastier. Something about the warm weather coming ridiculously early here screams for ice cream!

Your hair cute looks great, by the way. And I can’t wait to get out of student housing and into a real kitchen some day. Simple pleasures. Right now my apartment kitchen is so tiny I can’t open my fridge all the way 🙁 .. 2 more years of school, one of internship, and then I’ll think about how I’m going to get myself a decked out kitchen!

Love the new fridge & stove! I remember you getting the new stove at your old house, but, weirdly, not the broken top on the old one. Maybe I missed a post back then…

You look so glowy, the ice cream reminds me of summer, and your stomach is adorable. Those are three reasons why I’m lamenting my evening of grading and packing, my non-ice cream eating, and my non-pregnancy. However, it’s no small consolation that it’s 70 degrees out and that I’m packing for a week in San Diego:) From your pictures, though, I’m bringing my new kids Patagonia fleece. Love that the kids sizes run so big.

So why can’t they make the panels the same color as the shorts/pants/skirt so it won’t look so gross! So the whole thing could have been been pink….They’re expensive enough that they can do it!

I think they make panels flesh colored so it doesn’t show through if you have a light colored shirt on. I know these shorts are pastel enough that it probably wouldn’t make a difference, however, I have jeans with a navy panel and it really shows through when I wear white tops.
