Hard Hat Area

After finishing up my computer work this morning, I zoned out for SIX hours putting together all of the nursery furniture. Plus rearranging thanks to BERF recommendations.

IMG_8913-3Blog

Things definitely went wrong. Two of them I was able to recover.

IMG_8915-3Blog IMG_8916-2Blog

IMG_8921-2Blog

One is pretty obvious…oops. Where’s the white paint?!

IMG_8931-2Blog

With the addition of the furniture and the rearrangement, the nursery has gone from like to love!

IMG_8933-2Blog

More details in next week’s BERF nursery post!!

I’m one of those instant gratification types who doesn’t stop once I start a project. Thus, it was 1:30 when I realized I needed to eat. I wasn’t even that hungry, but I was edging onto going too long.

IMG_8911-2Blog

I put together a delicious wrap with hummus, cheese, greens and a pickle, all heated under the broiler

IMG_8903-2Blog

And ate a delicious mango!!

IMG_8906-3Blog

IMG_8904-2Blog

Glass of milk on the side! Hydrating sustenance.

IMG_8901-2Blog

Pulled a Girl Scout cookie out of the freezer to end the meal….and got back to work.

Now about these blisters on my hands…

I didn’t elaborate for sake of details, but stripped screws x 10, cracked wood, and a major mishap on my part putting drawer on backwards that I was able to brilliantly recover by getting out the drill 🙂

You are a brave soul to tackle putting Ikea furniture together by yourself! I am so intimidated by the instructions that I just wait for my husband to do it….haha. The nursery is looking awesome! Putting it all together must make it seem so real that there will be a baby in there soon! 🙂

It’s been a very long time since I put furniture together. Hmm, I need a new bookcase.

Totally treated myself to a mango at WF after seeing yours a couple of weeks ago. I almost skipped it b/c they didn’t have any organic, but decided that it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world (we try to do mostly organic or local and chemical-free, but we’re definitely not 100%). It was delicious, and my little guy loved it, too!

I love hemnes! I have the black/brown version. The two bigger dressers, the bed, and bedside table. It took a long time to assemble everything, but I still love them 4 years later. (except the bedside table – the tiny drawer is somewhat useless..)
    love!

IKEA is like your dear relative from Sweden. You love him to death, but whenever you try to sit down and communicate it just doesn’t work. Still, you keep going to visit because the meatballs are just so freaking tasty.

The sneak peek of the crib looks very nice!

That wrap looks quite scrumptious, too. I thought the mango was a side of cheese at first glance, hehe!

The room looks more light and open this way, and you can hang something over the dresser for the baby to look at (when he gets big enough). Also, the crib looks protected in the corner. There’s a lot of truth to that feng shui stuff 🙂

The nursery looks great! I love how you rearranged it. But, I have to be honest. The mango stole the show today. It looks so delicious! Now I have to go buy one. It’s funny, because I never actually liked mango until about a year ago. I always wanted to like them, but every time I tried one I just couldn’t get into it. Then, something just clicked last year and suddenly I loved them! I guess it’s just proof that we can all learn to like new things.
