Furry Floors

It be a pancake morning, mon!

IMG_5241 (640x427) (2)

Kodiak cakes made with salty peanuts and chia seeds, topped with banana, Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter, more salty peanut, more chias and a drizzle of maple!

IMG_5233 (640x427) (2) IMG_5238 (640x427) (2)IMG_5234 (640x427) (2)

One serving of Kodiaks goes a long way!

IMG_5237 (640x427) (2)

With a side of vanilla scented coffee

IMG_5239 (640x427) (2)

IMG_5240 (427x640)

We do not have a furry animal gracing our floors, but we do have a new rug!

IMG_5259 (640x427) (2)

Karen’s sisal rug from her condo was HUGE – 15 x 12′ and she had it cut down to fit in her new place. We got the leftovers! Awesomely, it came out to be a pretty big hunk of rug!

IMG_5247 (640x427) (2)

IMG_5250 (640x427) (2)

Here’s our new hand-me-own entertainment center (which is really not a hand-me-down at all because it’s super nice – she just didn’t have space for it). So now practically our entire living room has come from one of Karen’s living spaces (the couch and chairs were in her living room many years ago)

 this !
Thanks Karen!!

IMG_5244 (640x427) (2)

Thanks also for our TV Emily + Casey! It is still buzzing on and off, but I am tolerating it in exchange for Glee and …wait for it….House Hunters!! Turns out my $10/mo basic cable included some HD channels that I didn’t know we’d get!! HGTV score!

Our oriental rug is now in the foyer. This came from my grandmother. (As did the green chair to the right that I had reupholstered last year). This house keeps a’changin’!

IMG_5253 (640x427)

All of our sunshine of yesterday is again hiding behind the clouds. Makes for a good yoga day! Just hope I can make it there on bicycle.

Yesterday was videos, today is writing. Clickity-click!

    Those pancakes look great!

I just now noticed the pillows on the black/white chairs — those are from Pier 1 I believe. I worked there all through high school and college and I can’t help but spot those kinds of things 🙂

I bet Karen’s house is just beautifully decorated. Have you already shown her all moved in already?

Quality hand-me-downs are such a great way to furnish a house. You usually get better quality than most of the trendy, cheap furniture — stuff that will last more than 5-10 years — and the price is right!

I also hate that my boyfriend never seems to have the seem reactions to the same foods that I do, so unfair! As for the gym, I recently quit my job but have been hesitant about quitting the gym, too. I will have a much more limited income working part-time, but have decided to keep the membership. Even though the yoga is definitely sub-par from real studios, having all the class options and access to the amenities definitely keeps me going through the winter months. Good choice 🙂
