Mid Turkey Day Updates

A Note From Kath’s Mom!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of Kath’s wonderful readers.  We are gearing up for the dinner celebration here.  The table looks beautiful.  Matt is baking bread that smells delicious.  Kath is dusting and arranging some furniture we brought from my mom and dad.  I just polished antique candlesticks, since Kath is not fond of polishing.  Kath’s dad is out on one of his reading walks.  And Larbs is on the phone chatting with Kath as I type. She and her Matt are spending Thanksgiving with Matt’s mom, dad, and sister in Crofton, Maryland.

I’m thankful, of course, for my creative and energetic daughter and her sparkling husband, but today I think of all of you, too.  Thank you for your many kindnesses to Katherine.  May you all have a splendid holiday.

Barbara

I certainly burned the pumpkin pie calories cleaning this morning!! My grandparents sent us some antique furniture from their house that they just moved from (that’s why I’ve been getting so many heirlooms these days!) and we spent the morning rearranging, dusting and cleaning. I was a busy bee for 2 straight hours! But it’s all set up now!

The chair on the left is painted with Williams Shakespeare, the little desk is the husband’s new laptop station and the his and hers (I think King & Queen style?) chairs filled up our empty den perfectly. (I plan to get the chairs reupholstered in the coming weeks with something hip and modern 😉 )

also you and matt’s picture so reminds of what happens when josh and i are taken together — the 11 inch height difference becomes very apparent! you two are adorable.

What a stunning post! The chairs, the food, the family shots! You certainly know how to throw a party…there is still something very casual (in a great way!) about the pictures, even though you’ve done formal menu’s and place cards.

Wow, what a beautiful table! At my grandparents’ there are so many people that we eat on paper plates and just put all the serving dishes on the table (it’s in the kitchen anyway). It’s also kind of beautiful in its own way.

    Your mom is too cute!
