Feels Good To Be Home

IMG_4703Blog-2

Good morning! We had lightening and thunder last night! And woke up to grey skies. But the sun is coming out as I type!

Hello my darling oatmeal <3

IMG_4705Blog-2

Back-To-Normal Oats

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
  • 1 tbsp flax (matt’s choice! I missed the chia so I put them on top. Not the same)
  • Half banana
  • Pinch salt
  • Coconut
  • Chia seeds
  • 1 butterscotch chip (matt’s deposit!)
  • Peanut Butter Boy Peanut Butter

IMG_4706Blog-2

Nick, The Peanut Butter Boy, is making his own line of peanut butters! He sent me a tiny jar to give him some feedback on. I have tasted many a nut butter! This was the creamiest homemade (I think it’s homemade) peanut butter ever. Super sticky too! Great nutty flavor.

BreakfastBlog

New (old) linens from Mom!

IMG_4704Blog

Also, new jugs on our porch. Love them! They’ll likely end up in the bakery.

I love those linens!! So pretty. I have always had a fascination with old linens. I remember when I was a teenager, I spent my hard earned money of vintage handkerchiefs. Weird, I know. I do still have them, though.

Christie, I wish you’d been at Mom’s retirement center to see the display of old hankerchiefs from a collector who lives there. She has two fun books where the handkerchiefs are tucked into the illustrations. Never seen that before!

That sounds really cool! I have seen all sorts of cool things made out of them. The most popular seems to be scented sachets for lingerie drawers.

I can’t do hot oats, either. But overnight oats made with steel cut oats, now that is another story! I just mix a little yogurt, milk, oats, and usually some trail mix/nuts, etc. in it and let it set overnight. In the morning, I leave it out of the fridge for 30 mins or so, to knock the chill off, and then top with almond butter. Delicious! 🙂
