Fancy Feast

It’s been a lazy – but active – Sunday for sure!!

I spent the morning learning this dance route by Nappy Tabs!! They’re famous on So You Think You Can Dance and in honor of National Dance Day they choreographed a routine for folks all over to learn. I’ve done a lot of jazz, but I haven’t done any hip hop so this was really fun to learn!!

When I first started out, I couldn’t keep up and was so lost because they’re teaching it mirror from you. But I stuck to it for about 30 minutes and I got it!! So much fun! I’m going to keep practicing!

After getting all warmed up dancin’, I met my dance teacher Faith at the Monticello Trail for a hard run! We did 2ish miles up to Monticello – ALL UPHILL! I didn’t wear my Garmin so I don’t know our speed, but we killed it!! Talking to. I was out of breath, but it was all good.

Back at home I practiced my dance a bit more and then dug into this nutritious lunch!

At my talks to the Slimdown class I told them all about sardines and how easy and healthy they are for you. I decided to practice what I preach and made a sardine salad for lunch. It was actually Trader Joe’s Smoked Herring (which is my favorite) plus carrot, pepper, tomato, mustard, mayo and salt + pepper. Served over garden greens with olive oil, honey and salt with pretzels on the side!!

Somebody came over for a visit and went CRAZY for my herring!!

IMG_3918-2Blog

He was jumping up, sniffing – going crazy!! I caved and gave him a tiny taste on a silver spoon.

Iced minty tea

Dessert! Who needs a bowl.

After lunch, Matt and I went to check out an open house in Belmont. Did you know I’m house obsessed and have been since I was little? I love looking at open houses, as my family used to go to them for entertainment when we were at the beach.

This house was SO charming and fun, but only had 2 bedrooms. I hope we can buy one sometime soon!

A few hours later – and probably due to so much activity! (the bike ride a long one) I was getting very hungry again.

It seemed like a good time to try Krissy’s Butterbeer Cupcakes!!

IMG_3928-2Blog

If Butterbeer were poured into a cupcake, this would be it. It was fabulous!!

And to balance my carbs with some protein, a small bowl of plain yogurt on the side.

Tonight – it’s out to dinner again. Karen invited us to restaurant week ages ago (before we had such a busy schedule) so it’s now or never. This girl’s sticking to sparkling water tonight!

You have mentioned that before that you enjoy open houses. I had my last house on the market 13 months and showed it over 75 times!!!! before it sold. Needless to say, lots of people who just enjoyed looking to look….were looking at it.

    The cupcake…omg. Perfect!

Wow does that watermelon look amazing!! I want one of those butter beer cupcakes! I’ve already seen the movie twice! Where are you going for dinner? My mom and I are trying to come up with something good. Our usual places are C and O, Continental divide, and Mono Loco. Any suggestions? 🙂

My boyfriend and I are also OBSESSED with houses. We’re always looking, always going to open houses, it’s so much fun! Actually it was you that got me addicted to House Hunters years ago because you mentioned it once.

That butterbeer cupcake really does look amazing – I’m dying to make those!! I’m thinking I need to have an HP marathon in October complete with those 🙂

Aw I gotta try to learn that routine! What a great idea for a fun workout! (I am loving using my Dance Central on the Xbox Connect…only downside is it takes pictures of me from a honestly unflattering angle as I do it LOL). Quick question: how do I know exactly how many calories to plan for in a day if I do calorie counting? I do calculators online that say around 1500….is that net? I am just checking because since I am partially breastfeeding my baby I don’t want to slip too far under.

Hmmm. I can’t really say without knowing a full description of your daily activity, but if you’re breast feeding 1500 sounds too low to be gross. So I’d assume that is a NET number. Might want to check with your doctor for a better estimate?
