El Tigre Returns

From the weekend – gratuitous shots of El Tigre at play!! He disappeared for a few weeks, but he seems to have found our porch again!

IMG_9199Blog

EltigreBlog

We found a half eaten strawberry on our porch. I think it was him! I hope they are safe for cats to eat because we have a whole patch out there that he could get into!

I rocked Body Pump today, er, “Pump Challenge.” Chris’s class is a step above regular BP. He LOVES long holds. I hate them!!! But today I somehow managed to make it through them all with just a grimace on my face! I also would like to note that my weights were the heaviest in the class (tied with a few other women) which made it even harder! I piled it on today. My muscles have REALLY gotten toned from going 2x a week all spring!

Lunch was killer salad

    • Strawbs
    • Grilled eggplant
    • Pecans
    • Avocado
    • Green pepper, cucumber, zucchini
    • Lots of honey drizzle!!
    • Lavender salt + olive oil

Return of the bubbles!!

Do you want to know how busy I was last week? Last night I found an episode of Glee on my DVR from last week. I’ve already watched this week’s episode and didn’t bat an eye, but today I realized I skipped a whole episode without watching it!!

Don’t think that would ever happen with Gossip Girl though : )

I’ve got a 2pm meeting and I’m hoping it doesn’t rain because I’m heading out on my bike!!

I love your leftovers lovin’ salad. Everything all piled on and ready to dig into! A great way to use up leftovers, too.

And El Tigre is such a pretty kitty. When I used to have cats, I found them to have a bit of a sweet tooth so not surprising about the berries.

Hope you have a great afternoon!

Glad the cat is back – she’s so cute! Do you get worried when she disappears for days? I don’t think strawberries hurt cats. I once had a cat that liked to eat salt and vinegar chips – after that, I don’t worry about anything they eat. 🙂

I’m definitely jealous of your 2X a week Body Pump sessions! I work out hard at the gym and everything but still think my muscles looked more toned when I was able to attend Body Pump. I’ve been debating going back to the gym I don’t really care for (used to work there) & is more expensive just for the fact they offer BP.

LOL I did that with a whole series of ER once! I didn’t realise the DVD discs were double sided, so I watched the first 4 episodes, missed 4, watched 4…I declared at the end of the season that I hated ER cos it was so disjointed and incomplete. I felt like a right muppet when I realised my mistake!

From 1994-2000, I lived in Cville doing my graduate work in French. We had a cat who looked exactly like El Tigre, who started out as a feral cat! One of my co-workers at a bookstore tamed him and gave him to us, and he was our cat Oskar for 14 years before he died. Maybe El Tigre is a relation!

Maybe El Tigre was thinking the same thing about you. Being so busy with everything and the bakery, maybe you just missed each other. Might want to get a cat toy on the end of a fishing rod to play with the kitty(s) because you don’t want them to get too fond of the strawberries or they might just beat you to them.

I think a big problem with body pump is that people are too quick to compare themselves with others. Remember that different bodies are capable of building muscle in different ways and at varying levels! It hurts people who are not genetically able to build a lot of muscle to be compared to those who are able to, based on how much weight is on their bar in class. It’s about doing what is right to build your own body’s strength in that moment!
