Drive By Blogging

No time to chat – my hours are closing in on me!!

Good news: I finished my paper!!!!!! Well, my first draft. I still need to do all my references. And I might have revisions. But the hard part is over. And the paper isn’t due until late April, so I’m ahead of the game (the introduction is due Wednesday, which was why I had the time crunch to do it this weekend)

Bad news: I have yet to go to the gym, shower or start my other biochem assignment due Monday.

A huge thank you to Matt for doing the grocery shopping. I wish I could have gone though! He didn’t make it home 100% complaint free, but at least we have all we need for our party tonight.

He also made me this nice sandwich out of some of the new ingredients. Ham, pepperjack, avocado, mustard + sprouts on GH Honey Wheat.

I was going to make Heather’s broc guac for lunch, but I didn’t have time 🙁 So I just had the broc on the side. Microwaved to tenderize and drizzled with honey!

And a carrot topped with this! We had a coupon leftover from my contest. Love this AB (wish he’d gotten crunchy though!) So glad to have more nut butter options in the house. Amy reports that the Barney Butter she sent is on the way. Yipee! Thanks Amy!

I am so with you on being jealous of people who have their weekends free! I am knee deep in studying for anatomy and I hate having a free minute and feeling guilty if I’m not reading my anatomy lectures!! (I am still doing the prerequisites to get into my RD program) Oh well, we will get there!!

I totally understand the stress that you are under right now… I am in the process of writing a ten page essay that is due on wednesday and we have to have the entire rough draft with outline done by monday… I only just finished the outline and also have yet to get showered. I hope that I can get it done and I am sure that the nut butter your husband got you at the store is just as healthy and delicious and the crunchy stuff. keep on working hard and eventually we will be on summer break!! 🙂

Good luck with biochem. I have an Advanced Nutrient Metabolism exam Monday . . . it’s basically like biochem, but more in depth . . . . very interesting, but I’m so ready to be done with it! 🙂

    Kath,
Lunch looks yummy, and your broccoli drizzled with honey probably had more flavor than my broc guac. 🙂 I’m hoping to try it again soon with all the necessary ingredients.

Hope you made some progress on your biochem assignment and that you got in a good workout. Have fun tonight.

Crunchy is always better – AGREED!

    question for kath!

hey kath, i know you used to use a heart rate monitor when you worked out. i just got a timex ironman and put my weight in like it says.

i’ve used it twice: a 30 min elliptical and lower body work out and 30 min walking/running treadmill and upper body work out. now both times said 524 and 557 cals burned, respectively. i’m only 4’10” and about 105 lbs. this seems crazy high. did you think your readings seemed accurate?

It’s always great when you can finish an assignment early! Biochem is a challenging subject, but it will be worth it when it’s over. Just know that there are many of us still struggling through their educations with you. Try to have some fun and good luck with the rest of your assignments!

You know, if you don’t manage to have a workout, you will survive lol. But if did manage a quickie, more power to you.

Wow Paige that was just plain bitchy.

Ooooh! Sparkling water with pOM sounds AWESOME!!!???Your sandwich also looks sooo yummy! Do you have a preference for which brand of almond butter you like the most?!?! Is there a reason why? I’m having a hard time picking…because there are so many out there, yet so pricey!

I don’t mean to be rude, but why does it matter why I had half a sandwich? 1) I wasn’t that hungry and 2) We had planned to workout in about and hour and I didn’t want to feel that full.

    jen ,
That does seem very high. Do you remember what your HR was during these workouts? My Polar F4 seems to be spot on accurate with me – about 73 calories per mile and 73 calories per equiv. of a mile in energy to workout in other forms.

    Michelle ,
Barney Butter is my fav!! I really love this Maranatha one too. And sometimes I like a plain “Almonds, Salt” combo. Just depends on my mood. I love AB because it’s slightly sweeter than PB.

    Kath
