Classy

Wish I could stay and chat longer, but GOSSIP GIRL is waiting!! This really is the best series show I’ve ever watched! (Well, Full House and Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts are up there with Sex and the City too!)

I had a wonderful first day. I LOVE (not just like) my professors (2 are repeats!) and the classes are all my favorite topics.

Metabolism is the class I’ve been waiting for since I started the program

Nutrition Education/Theory/Practice is really a communications class on all the ways R.D.s can spread the word – including blogging, YouTube, Twitter and freelance writing (and more). How appropriate for me is that!?!? It’s the first semester the course is offered, as they just changed the curriculum, so I think it’ll be a fun ride too.

Medical Nutrition Therapy is all things clinical and fascinating. Lab values, tube feeding, etc. I think it’s going to be really interesting.

Tomorrow is Community Nutrition – excited about that too.

Look who brought a picnic to class! Leftovers from her party 🙂

IMG_1408 (480x640)

I snagged some veggies, a chip and hummus at 5:00 before MNT started. I had also packed a mango and an ota.bar!

IMG_1409 (480x640)

Ashley, this bar was by FAR my favorite!!!!!! LOVED the honey essence! It was also the perfect sized snack to tide me till after class.

IMG_1411 (480x640)

Lucky for us, we got out at 6:30 and I regretted the big snack because Matt was cooking chili at home! I waited until about 8PM to eat and enjoyed a nice bowl – in front of the TV with my show!

IMG_1416 (640x480)

This was grass-fed beef with a can of kidney beans, a bunch of farmer’s market okra, a can of diced tomatoes, chili seasonings, an ear of corn and I think some extra broth for liquid.

We topped it with plain Chobani from my sample pack and the last of the Harris Teeter flax corn chips. Mmm!

IMG_1413 (640x480)

IMG_1412 (640x480)

I didn’t really need anything else, but Matt’s coworker, Kruti, brought in some Indian treats to work and he brought me a bite of each. A lentily cornbread that was deliciously spicy and some kind of sweet ball called Ladu (I think!?) Loved ’em both!

IMG_1418 (480x640)

SO cool that my class tomorrow isn’t until 5PM and I have all day to get stuff done.

Gotta run – S+B are calling….

Quick question for you- when you grilled your peaches, did you coat them with anything?? (oil, pam, etc?) Let me know 😉

It is nice to have teachers you like – but….perhaps teachers think the same thing about their students sometimes too! (yay – the ones I like!!). Not that I do that or anything…. but I think it’s natural to like certain personality traits too.
