Chest, Then The Rest

IMG_1219-2

Back at Pump this morning – I basically skipped chest on the bench with a bar (which has started hurting my lower back in all kinds of ways) and instead did a bunch of knee pushups (I can’t do regular anymore not because of my shoulders or chest but because my abs might rip open!) and then some seated stretching while the group finished the track. The rest of the class was just fine since Monday is mostly free weights anyways, so there isn’t much I have to modify. I just have to get over not doing what everyone else is doing on the few tracks I can no longer do! Friday I’m going to do machine/free weight lifting again – my days with the pump bar are over.

IMG_1212

We have lots of leftovers in the fridge. For lunch I heated up some of the pasta bake from our dinner party with Meredith and Garrick last week. I mixed in 2 spoons of cottage cheese for even more protein – and cheese! It was delicious!

IMG_1215-2

And just had a simple salad on the side.

IMG_1216-2

A got a bunch of these Hint Fizz waters for our party and love them! The blackberry is incredible. No sugar, sweetener or anything – just flavored water.

IMG_1218-2

IMG_1211

I saved a triangle in my stomach for these cookies that Lauren brought me!

IMG_1220

They were soft, not too sweet and super chewy – I had half of one to end the meal.

IMG_1221-2

I have an appointment and then some 31 week photos to edit and write up!

I gotta get some of that water!!! I am all about any kind of drinks that have zero to under 10 grams of sugar in them. I am not a fan of overly sweet drinks, and always water them down.

I’m envious of all your gorgeous “simple salad” pictures. I’ve given up buying lettuce, because I never seem to be able to use it all before it goes slimy in my one person house. Do you or your readers have any tips for storing lettuce? Thanks and I hope the bad storms passed you all by! Sarah

I always wait to wash it. I rarely have it go bad on me but I do use it within 5-7 days at the most

I have the same problem with lettuce. I’ve been washing it ahead of time but maybe I will wait and wash as needed as you suggested. Thanks!

I find that sometimes it is just too wet from the grocery store so I wrap it in paper towels and put it in a ziplock bag. If there is any kind of twist tie on it (like on my kale) I take that off. I don’t wash it until I use it.

When I buy leafy greens, I like to wash them, place the individual leaves on paper towel, roll it all up and store in a container…a plastic ziplock bag will do….and store it in the crisper. Great way to travel with it too! Hope that helps!

Sarah: The best way I have found to make lettuce last is this way:
Wash and divide up the lettuce. Dry it as best you can. If it is still a little wet, that’s fine. Then wrap all the leaves in paper towels, put it in a plastic bag or sealable storage bag and store it in the crisper of your refrigerator.

My lettuce will last 1-2 weeks this way, easily.

Maybe everyone else already knows but what do the little symbols mean on the packaging of those cookies?

I’m not sure – maybe just their logos?

Go to the Sticky Fingers Bakery site and run your curser over the symbols.
