Blustery Cold

And I don’t mean the weather!! I spent 2 hours this morning crying from every opening in my face as my cold medicine let everything go. It was quite unpleasant. But things cleared up around 12:30 and I decided to bike to the gym to breath in lots of fresh air. My body feels fine – it’s just my nose! It is very blustery out there! At the gym I only did 20 minutes on the Stepmill on a lower level and headed home. Don’t worry, I disinfected the machine very well both before and after I got on.

I got home at 2pm and showered. I don’t have much of an appetite today, but I could tell that I was pretty hungry deep down. Since I haven’t been grocery shopping, my choices were hard-boiled egg salad sandwich or canned/boxed/frozen soup. I decided on a chicken-y soup for my cold.

I got these Pacific soups on sale a few weeks ago and my hope was that they would be less “canned soupy” because Pacific boxed soups are so awesome. I’d give this guy a B+. It was good, but not great. I could have done without the slimy gross onions, but finding an onion-free soup is impossible. I probably wouldn’t buy this again, but I did enjoy it and it was much better than lots of other canned soups I’ve had in my lifetime. I did need some spice though!

I also had a piece of toast drizzled with olive oil

And a huuuuuge grapefruit

I am off to run a fun shopping errand and will be back to take a nap and get ready to head uptown where our date night is taking place! See you all in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It needed spice because you took the onions out! 😉 My favorite canned soup is Amy’s Tomato Bisque – yum, yum, yum! Hope your nose feels better soon!

I think that the chicken & sausage one is much better – & the spicy chicken fajita is good, too. (My friend’s husband is the soup inventor – R&D is probably what it’s really called – for Pacific Natural, and he invented most of their canned soups. 🙂

Sorry to hear you are under the weather! (or your nose, at least!) I had the same thing happen to me and I think continuing exercise REALLY helped it out. Glad the soup was good, I just bought it on sale too, but am wary of canned soup!

P.S. Have you heard the Deathcab for Cutie song called “Kath”? It makes me think of you!
