Around The Corner

When I woke up to a sloppy rainy morning, little did I know the most beautiful fall day yet was around the corner!PicnikBlog

Thanks in part to the increase in appreciation of sunshine following a few days of wetness.

I am THRILLED with our new house’s location. I can run so many errands on foot now. My bi-weekly Body Pump classes take me right through downtown and I went to the drugstore, the bank, the other bank, and the ice cream shop all in one.

Downtown1

After class, I prepared juice and toast for lunch

IMG_8856Blog

Juice with ye ole juicer [Breville Juice Fountain Plus] with the above ingredients (minus the plum – that was for chewing!)

JuiceBlog

On the side I had a slice of sourdough toast (made at the bakery!) with cream cheese and some Copper River smoked salmon. The salmon was sent to me in the final shipment of my partnership with the Copper River group this summer. My love for salmon has definitely grown.

Plum on the bottom!

I’m working on a You Tube project, doing laundry, going to drop something off at the bakery and working on some marketing things all at once. Then – party for the weekend!

being able to walk places is so important. i live in one of the only areas of LA where you can do that, but unfortunately the useful places are all shutting down for a million coffee and dessert shops

It is unseasonally warm in England right now. October is often sunny but not usually so warm. People were swimming in the sea this week which is totally unusual. Loving the juice. I should get my old juicer out and make some. Mmmmm – there’s a good idea for Saturday morning.

Lunch and juice. I love it! I always feel like I am wasting too much fiber in my juicer, so I usually end up putting in the Vitamix, but, it is never quite as good as the juicer. Also, I have a bad habit of hating to clean the juicer..Vitamix is just a little easier to clean!

I am thinking about buying a vitamin but can decide if inshod get 377 dollar one or 499 one. I also watched a video last night where you make juice in the vitamin by straining it. Looked good to me!

Oh, you will not regret it! I use it everyday, multiple times a day. Smoothies, juices, soups, hummus, cashew cream, puree’s, it is a kitchen life saver. It pays for itself.

Do you know if there is a big difference between the 380 and 500 one? the HP and Watts are the same but the 500 one is “professional.”

And of course the juice looks great. I never juice anymore because I am so slow with juicer cleanup. I have a Breville but the pulp always seems to get so embedded and stuck in the teeth/blade. You’re a better woman than I for juicing 🙂

I like where I live. A lot of places are walkable, including to work. I also live close to a bus route which, although not as green as walking, is greener than driving a private vehicle. My house is in an old part of town which is undergoing a revival and there’s some interesting new places being built. A new locavore type burger restaurant and a coffee shop – yay.

I have been loving my week in NYC because I can walk everywhere. Where I live in California you end up driving everywhere – I love that I am getting in a full walking workout everyday just seeing the sites in NYC.

I can totally see why you made the decision to move to a house that makes walking much easier.
