Another K+M

Lunch date!

You might recognize Kate + Matt from this post – Matt surprised Kate with a KERF birthday shout out last year. They were in town this weekend for a getaway and we met up for lunch today at the bakery.

Foodblog-4137

So fun to meet them in person. [And they really are another Katherine and Matt!]

I went to Pump beforehand. I considered not going today, but it’s the ONE bit of exercise in the whole week I hate to miss! I like seeing all of my friends, and it’s my best (i.e. hardest and most efficient) workout of the week. I was glad I went! Hoping to go one more time and I will have gone nearly every week of my pregnancy, although it’s fine with meet if baby wants to come early and make me miss class next week

Smile this !

Foodblog-4136

For lunch I had half a pimento cheese + plum chutney sandwich and a slab of tofu on the side for a little extra protein

Foodblog-4140

My favorite sandwich!

Foodblog-4135

And for dessert, we shared this ooey, gooey cosmic brownie four ways. So fudgy today!

Foodblog-4141

We talked for a long while before the other K+M had to hit the road.

Foodblog-4133

And then this K+M headed to the doctor! A little bit more progress (!) on the effacement side, but nothing to suggest labor is imminent.

I have a ton of emails to catch up on having been away from my desk all day. Going to be bouncing on my exercise ball while I respond!

I have never had a pimento cheese sandwich, but the texture looks unbeatable. I am SO impressed that you’ve kept up your exercise throughout your pregnancy! Weightlifting seems especially challenging during pregnancy (I wouldn’t know from experience) but you’ve been the Body Pump champ!

I’m not lifting much weight – 10 pounders and enough to keep me a little toned! I had to give up the barbells a long time ago because of my back : )

How often do you head in to see your OBGYN at this point? Is it every week?? I’m 11 weeks and really interested by all things baby!

Yes, every week since 36 weeks.

I saw them once a month until 28, then biweekly, and now weekly.

Glad you had a great visit! Oh yeah and you don’t even look preggers in that black shirt!! Definitely one of those teeny moms-to-be. That’s gonna be one healthy baby!

That brownie looks phenomenal. And you look teenie tiny in that last picture, but there’s definitely no hiding that cute belly :). Is it odd that I think baby bumps are so cute? I’m totally going to show mine off all the time when the day comes.

You are absolutely the most beautiful and most healthy looking pregnant woman I have ever seen at 37+ weeks. While I agree, black is the universal tummy hider…you look like you’re all belly (the holy basketball pregnant belly) with a perfect glow. And – fine – I know it is always you’re so small/so big/and the comments are always a plenty…your belly is so perfectly petite and proportioned for you. It is like you were made for this bump. After writing that I guess it dawns on me that you ARE made for that bump.

It’s so hard to not know when labor will come. The last 2 weeks of my pregnancies always seemed to drag on because I kept waiting for contractions to come on. Good luck! You will do great!

I start my weekly OB visits this week (finally hit the big 3-6!)and it kicks off with our last ultrasound to check in on his length, weight and position which as of last visit was head down like a good boy (I hear the weight guesstimate can sometimes be off as much as two pounds!). We haven’t seen him since 19 weeks and I’m just itching to check in on him! I totally understand the interrupted sleep thing – my brain won’t stop thinking about when our little package is going to arrive and I swear every little thing makes me think, oh man, could this be the start?! Very excited for you!

Your sandwich combo is so intriguing! Yum! I wonder if your son will be as adventuresome. I tried to give mine a jam and cheese sandwich, but it was not well received.

I went to the doctor at 38 weeks and they said I might go over 40 weeks…. I went into labor 3days later at 39 weeks! So, babies can really come whenever they want! You look great!
