Alphabet [Oat] Soup

Mornin’ y’all!

I knew today would be 100% an oatmeal day and wanted to make a fabulous bowl of pumpkin fun.

My initials – Katherine Anne Younger. That is a Y on the end there, I promise!

IMG_4644 (640x427)

The mix:

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, pinch salt
  • Half banana
  • ~1/3 cup pumpkin
  • ~1/4 cup Daisy Cottage Cheese
  • ~2 tbsp cooked wheatberries
  • ~1 tbsp ground flax
  • IKEA  cookies
  • 2 tsp of Costco PB, drizzled off the spoon by my finger, which was a very effective method to increase surface area!

Delicious coffee

NERD KERF Series

I hit a road block with the Gmail videos – As predicted, you guys used up all the Bandwidth at Screencast.com in a matter of hours! I am working to upgrade my Jing account, convert the videos to MP4’s and upload them to YouTube. Should have video #2 at lunch!

In the meantime, here’s Episode I on You Tube if you missed it earlier this week:

Busy day ahead, and then fun vacation tomorrow! Larbs + Matt are flying in at 10:30 and then we’re driving 4 hours to Bald Head Island. Hoping the weather stays nice!

    Hi Kath,

Hope all is well. Just curious on the Costco PB. I’ve seen it and been tempted to buy it, I usually go crunchy, but the kids and hubby like creamy and I buy them Skippy Natural.
What flavor of PB would you equate the Costco one to? I noticed it only has roasted peanuts and no other ingredients like palm oil, so I was curious of the taste.

    Thanks!

LOL love the Y. I totally see it! 😉 Thank you so much for that video. I went straight and changed everything like you said the other day. I’m still fiddling with it to figure out the labels and inboxes, but I’m sure it’ll really help. I really like the fact that I change my signature so it shows up under my actual message (rather than at the very bottom) when I ‘Reply’!

    Jonna,
Have you had Trader joe’s PB before? It is very similar to that, but less runny. Does Skippy have sugar? This obvi. doesn’t so it’s not very sweet, but very roasty. It’s only about $6 for two HUGE jars so I would def. give it a try. You could always eat it yourself if they don’t like it 🙂

    Brooke,
    Thank you and welcome!

    Hi Kath,

Thanks for the info. Have not yet tried Trader Joe’s (just their almond butter) and I’m glad you told me the Costco one is not as runny. Skippy Natural has 3g of sugar per 2T, it’s not overly sweet. I will have to give the Costco one a try.
It’s amazing how many nut butters I have tried since reading your blog. I’ve even made some. I got some great fresh honey roasted PB at Whole Foods and just bought a bag of Trader Joe’s Honey Roasted assorted nuts and am going to try making some Honey Roasted nut butter with that.

    Have a great trip!
