I am glued to the house until the FedEx man arrives! He’s been trying to deliver a Black Box of wine from Foodbuzz for ages and always came at 11AM when I was gone (he needs my 21+-year-old signature). So hopefully I’ll have a new box of wine to suck on later today 😉
I’ve also got a classmate coming over at 2PM to work on a YouTube video project for Nutrition Education on caffeine. We’re excited to get it over with!
Breakfast was all-star:
Pumpkiny Pumpkin Oats
- 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
- Half banana
- Pinch salt
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 cup pumpkin, stirred in at end
- 2008 [hoarded] TJ’s Pumpkin Butter!!
- Costco PB
Good cuppa coffee! Sea Island Coffee blend –
Hello to-do list!

Can’t wait to hear your review of Black Box – I’m getting some too, and was invited to a dinner they hosted in SF but couldn’t go. Stupid work. But yay wine!
I have some pumpkin butter leftover in the fridge from last year – I hope it is still good!
I always forget to add it to my oats…

Funny about the wine. I was in kind of the same predicament last week. My dear husband had my favorite bottle of wine (Next Pinot Noir by Kings Estate) shipped to me for my birthday since it isn’t available in my county in VA. It took days for us to work getting it delivered out. It was a nice surprise when we were finally able to get it though!
deeelicious looking pumpkin-y pumpkin oats!! love it!
Me again. Thanks for your response. Can you please tell me what brand pb and ab you prefer these days then? The HT peanut butter that I thought you liked was the one I thought you sent to the Peanut Butter boy back then 🙂 That is a while back, I know. Anyway, there is no HT near me so about a month ago I was in another state and they had HT and I bought thinking that was a good one and I did not particularly like it.
Anyway.. Just curious. Thank you so much and good luck with everything.. Maybe I will come down and buy some bread from you guys when you open your bakery 🙂
Shannon (The Daily Balance) says
delicious looking bowl of oats! Have a great day!
Your pumpkin oats look amazing. I had a similar bowl this week.
Quick question- are you going to add the springpad feature to all of you recipes?
Marisa (Trim The Fat) says
A good day starts with wine 🙂 And pumpkin oats! Delish!
Love the black box wine, I’m currently working my way through a box of merlot. It’s a steal at $22.00 per box which equals 4 bottles of wine!
kay (eating machine) says

I had pumpkin pb oats today too! I am thinking of doing apple cobbler oats sometime soon too. It’s soooo that time of year, ya know. I heart Fall.
If you are ever looking to try a diff flavored coffee, check out: http://www.schuilcoffee.com/ Ryan and I loooove their Mackinaw Island Fudge flavor and the French Toast flavor. YUM.
Also, Ryan has perfected his version of Matt’s exploded wheatberry recipe. We are trying to recreate high 5 fiber. It’s our fav. If you have a chance, check it out: http://livewell360.com/2009/10/%E2%80%9Cseedy%E2%80%9D-whole-wheat-loaf/
Have a great b-day weekend, may this be the first day of the best year of your life thus far Kath!
I hoard the TJ pumpkin butter too. you have too!
So I had oatbran this morning in the KERF bowl too! First time I ate my oats in it. It was perfect! I’ll be posting about it soon. 🙂 Hope you have a lovely weekend Kath.
I hoard seasonal food items too 🙂 I still have 3 containers of pumpkin pie spice in my food box in the garage!!

Looks like such a comforting bowl of oats!
Good luck with the FedEx man! Boxed wine is fun, and supposedly making a big splash in the wine world.
Whitney @ Lettuce Love says
Wine deliver to your door — sounds like my kind of delivery!
I have that mug!
You seem to know your oats, so you’ve probably already tried this (and improved upon it!), but this is one of my faves: oatmeal with a little bit of plain yogurt and crunchy Trader Joe’s unsalted pb. Mix and mash! It’s so delicious!
this is torturing me 🙁 i miss pumpkin butter and pumpkin oats so much! my stomach growled the second these photos loaded… yum!
I love pumpkin oats! Maybe I should make my own pumpkin butter and add that to them too. Your creation looks amazing!
It’s the EarthFare peanut butter that I used to rave about and sent to PBB. I still love it, but I’ve had so many other kinds that I haven’t bought it in ages.
I want to, but I don’t know if I have the time. it’s a ton of work to edit each page 🙁
Fun and fun!
Great to hear!
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
Those oats sound so amazing! Perfect toppings, and love the thickness!
I still can’t get into the pumpkin oats, but hey, I love pumpkin everything else! Nice bowl. And cup.
Hey Kath! Thanks for the blog comments…much appreciated!! =) So, the baked pumpkin bars got better overnight! They solidified more and are amazing with a 12sec. zap in the microwave. I’m sure the egg would have helped as well…I made a lot of substitutions with that variation so it’s my own fault they were a little mushy! I will definitely give it another go. Have a great weekend!
Yummy looking breakfast, as always! 🙂
yummy lookin oats thats for sure!
