Aged

Does eating oatmeal next to a 200 year old desk make one wiser?

IMG_4527Blog

I wouldn’t know because I took my bowl to the couch to enjoy : )

IMG_4520Blog

This simpleton bowl contained just the basics – I even left out the chia seeds and was amazed at the difference in texture. It was much more liquidy and soupy than with the seeds.

IMG_4524Blog

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • A few raisins
  • Pinch salt
  • Half banana
  • Spoonful Sunbutter

IMG_4523Blog

I haven’t exercised in 3 days because of my illness, so I’m hoping to get in something energizing this morning. It’s kind of a catch 22: you don’t want to exercise because you don’t feel well but not exercising makes you feel worse. Thankfully I feel up to it today – still going to take it easy.

I know exactly how it is when you wanna work out but you can´t and then you feel even worse. I had 2 surgeries in a row and my body felt so weak after it. I wanted to go back to my normal working out schedule asap, but if you push too hard and your body is not ready, you gonna make it even worse. So my tip, enjoy your delicious food and cure the symptoms of your sickness completely. And when you feel like 100% again, just run a mile more for a week 😉 …. Happy Thursday and greetings from Germany

I exercise if I’m sick from the neck up, but not if I am from the neck down. It’s hard to take a break sometimes when exercise is just part of your daily routine, but I guess it’s nature’s way of telling you to rest! Hopefully you’ll be back to your old (Younger) self by the weekend. 😉

Love those green walls – and bowl! Simple bowls are the best. My grandmother used to make a thick, soupy bowl of oats with a little butter and salt. That’s all that was needed. Take it easy with working out. I rolled my ankle a week ago and it’s rough not doing anything but not having much choice either.

Snow…snow…snow. Big fluffy flakes were falling on my run today…beautiful! Dog walking today is going to be a bit messy. I love the green edging on the tea towel…the detail really makes it stand out. I usually opt for a nice brisk walk when I am a little under the weather…getting outside in the fresh air and getting the endorphines going helps to boost my spirits and energy level.

Isn’t it funny how we have to take our photos in the places with the best lighting, but then take them to another spot to eat? The best lighting in my apartment is on the floor in front of our balcony doors…so moving after photos is a good idea! Unless you enjoy eating on the floor.

    Defo take it easy lady!!

I get SO bored when sick, but I think forcing myself on all sorts of dumb hikes over xmas made my illness linger for SO much longer. I could NOT shift it – and I hardly ever get sick… Do what I did in the end and stay in bed, harnessing your inner OCD by planning your workouts for the next 5 months.

Much better long term and you get to feel productive! 🙂
