Party Down Under

‘Twas a dark and stormy night…

IMG_4504Blog

We had no [good] food in our house that sounded appealing. “Pizza!!” she exclaimed.

So they ordered a pie from a local joint – half cheese, half jalapeno on whole wheat crust!

IMG_4506Blog

Along with two salads:

They had a lovely picnic downstairs while watching a movie.

IMG_4514Blog

The husband had another trick up his sleeve – a carton of Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip! [She loved it]

IMG_4516Blog

Black Swan was…intense…and not quite as much of a story as they had hoped, but they both enjoyed it for its artistic presentation

You should totally watch Black Swan. It’s definitely twisted, but it’s one of those movies that afterwards, you sit back and say: wow…wow. Just don’t watch it in the dark or alone. Of course, there was a slightly awkward moment that made me wish I was with girls and not my boyfriend. So watch with girls not in the dark. With wine. Wine is essential.

Jalapeno as a pizza topper, say what? I adore jalapenos, I’m so sad I’ve never seen that option on a pizza menu! Only canned though; I got a veggie sandwich with fresh jalapenos on it the other day and spent 1 bite eating and 3 bites crying before I had to peel them off and admit defeat.

We had pizza (pep on whole wheat) for dinner tonight too! There was a special going on while we were grocery shopping so we couldn’t say no.

Black Swan was intense. I agree that the storyline wasn’t as strong as I had hoped but it was nicely done.

I’ll be honest…I was shocked when I saw you only watched the first half of Black Swan the other day! There is no way I could’ve stopped halfway through that movie. Granted, I watched it at our small theater that usually just shows independent films, and they sell wine and craft beers in their concessions, but I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I always prefer comedies, but I like to be surprised and caught off guard. This one did it for me. It was definitely twisted…but I sat there with my boyfriend at the end during the credits, and both of us were like: “Wow…umm…wow…” But you’re right. “Intense” is a good word to describe that film! I always thought ballet was shady…

I actually watched Black Swan in two different sittings. The first night I just couldn’t stand it anymore…too intense, weird, dark…so I gave up and went to bed. The next day I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I had to finish it and I’m glad I did. It was very well done and incredibly acted.
