A Christmas-Like Morning

DSC06980

I didn’t feel like working out first thing today, so I went straight to oatmeal. I wanted something sweet + Christmasy:

Cinnamon Buns + EggNog

DSC06979

  • 1/3 cup oats, vanilla soy milk, water, 1 medium ripe banana, pinch salt
  • 2-3 tbsp wheatberries
  • 1/4 crumbled Cinnamon Bun LaraBar
  • Drizzle of egg nog around the edges (This was from Gran Bett’s visit and the real deal.)
  • Spoonful Barney Butter

DSC06981

With coffee and Christmas carols 🙂

DSC06976

I spent the morning watching part of the new Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe movie. I used to LOVE watching it every Christmas at my grandmother’s house (the old one of course). She had a closet of big coats and my cousins and I would dress up in them and go in and out of every wardrobe in the house. So fun

 this !

Not sure what’s in store for the day. I need to start on my post-exams to-do list, which is quite long. I might save my workout for this evening and go to kickboxing like I did in the olden days. We’ll see.

I think I have read The Chronicles of Narnia 100 times… finally saw the new movie this weekend and was very impressed. Liam Neeson voicing Aslan was an amazing choice….

I don’t think I’ve ever read that you just didn’t feel like working out. I always thought you kept stringently to your morning workout routine. I also woke up this morning and thought, nah, not today, so yay for solidarity! I also like your attitude of maybe I’ll do kickboxing. I def get like that too.

I loved the OLD The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe movie when I was little. I do not like the new one.

I had brussels and sweet potato fries last night too. They go so well together. Not sure why.

for anyone in the philadelphia area (or wants to make the trip!), the franklin institute just opened a traveling exhibit. my and the boy might hit this up eventually.

it is the art and science behind the scenes of the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe!

it looks really cool. the have props, you walk through the wardrobe into the snow covered sets. you can touch a real ice throne. i love the fi. i’ve been going there since i was a kid. you don’t even have to be a science nerd to enjoy it. mmm…planetariums. 🙂

On a different note, and hope no one minds me asking for this help:
Are there any tips/hints/suggestions that you all might be able to offer regarding selling at Green Markets or Farmers Markets? If you’ve been to any, worked at any…..what attracts your attention? We are thinking of doing a “healthy granola” booth. Thanks! Joanne

Joanne—A “Healthy Granola Booth” sounds amazing! I wish my Green Market in Chicago had that one. Where are you located?

Maybe have little cups of samples for people to try? That way, if they try it and love it—spending the money on a whole bag wouldn’t seem so bad. I would be nervous to spend a lot of money on an entire bag if I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it. I hope that helps!

I LOVE the Turkish delight parts! I think I had it once and it was good. But we always used to pretend a box of regular chocolates was Turkish delight when we played 🙂

    Oh She Glows,
I’d love to do an oatmeal cookbook – someday!!

    denise ,
Oh my – thanks for letting me know! I think I fixed it. In the meantime, it’s http://www.barneybutter.com.
