50% There

No time to chat! Test #1 went pretty well – depending on how she grades it! Test #2 is looming…

IMG_2780 (800x600)

Contents:

  • Spinach + romaine
  • Drizzle goddess dressing
  • Raw Peppers, broccoli, grape tomatoes, carrots, snap peas, mushrooms
  • 2 pieces beef (which I thought were excellent)
  • 2 pieces salmon
  • Handful tofu
  • Stuffed grapeleaf
  • Tbsp raisins
  • 2 cubes cheese
  • Pineapple, strawberries, melon
  • 2 croutons
  • A little granola

I was majorly craving fruit so I put on a nice variety:

The highlight: my two cheese cubes and my 2 steak cubes. Both were surprisingly flavorful!

Two cookie samples!

I used to not like fruits with salads, now I love it!

There is a place by my office that has a rustic salad which is mixed greens, strawberries, pears, candied walnuts, gorgonzola cheese and a the best balsamic vinaigrette.

Your salad looks amazing. I think that’s enough fruits and veggies that most Americans get in a week!

    Kath-

Can you explain the whole NET calories thing to me? I saw it on your FAQ but I’m still a little confused. If I need about 1500 calories per day to maintain and burn approx. 250 calories per day thru exercise does this mean I need to eat 1750 to lose weight or 1250? HELP!

    Thank you everyone!!

    KLove ,
If you need 1500 to maintain (which seems low) you subtract 300 to get to 1200. That means you’ll lose 300 calories per day without any exercise. A pound ever 11-12 days. Weight loss is “taken care of.” But if you add exercise, then your NET would dip below 1200 and you don’t want that, so you’d add back anything extra you do. So with a net of 1200 (the minimum) you’d add exercise back.

    Make sense?

    Kath
