Tempt, Satisfy, Enjoy

IMG_2791 (1024x768)IMG_2792 (1024x768)IMG_2793 (1024x768)

Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!! I feel like I just finished finals! Kelsey and I celebrated with something we’ve been meaning to do for ages:

IMG_2798 (1024x768)

The warm weather, canceled Clinical – it was just the right time to drink some wine! We went to Vintage Wine Bar, which was on our way home.

IMG_2805 (1024x768)

IMG_2801 (1024x768)  IMG_2794 (1024x768)

We ordered the Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc – half priced bottle night!

IMG_2797 (1024x768) IMG_2796 (1024x768)

Then we decided to just call it dinner and order some bites.

Started with a salad of Prosciutto with Pear, Taleggio + Pistachios

IMG_2807 (1024x768)

IMG_2806 (1024x768)

And finished by splitting the Exotic Mushroom Pasta with Sun-dried Tomatoes + a Cream Sauce.

IMG_2811 (1024x768)

It was like liquid whipped cream! But the sun-dried maters were the best part.

IMG_2813 (1024x768)

I ate 75% and left a bit in my bowl on purpose to keep things a little lighter.

Refills

IMG_2816 (1024x768)

We had a blast! (We went walking this afternoon for over an hour to study for the Foodservice midterm. I think I did pretty well, but it’s so hard to gauge on these tests!)

IMG_2828 (1024x768)

Upon arriving home, I shared one of my aunt’s oatmeal coconut cranberry cookies with her for dessert. We think there might be some kind of exotic molasses in them!

I am thrilled to be done with school for a while (although I still have Food Lab on Friday). Tomorrow will be devoted to Africa prep and long-term assignments!

Nite!

    Congratulations on finishing your exams!

Could the ingredient in your aunt’s cookies be black treacle (or blackstrap molasses)? It’s used in many cookie recipes, and I think it gives them a very special flavor. 😉

I am also headed to Kenya in a while! I’m not leaving till later in May, but I’ll be there for almost 3 months!
Anyways, let’s just say that I can’t wait for your Africa posts! I’m going to include them as part of my “research” about MY trip!

I had my adv ex phys yesterday, but don’t feel too confident about it 🙁 Then I have one more on monday for human physiology. Hopefully that will go better? Have fun packing!
