20 Neutral Home Decor Items For Your Home

Today I’m sharing 20 neutral home decor items – from teak barstools and chunky jute rugs to wooden hamper baskets and textured pillows – that can add brightness and style to any room.

Grey chair with natural woven stool. this !

If you’ve been following KERF over the years, you may remember that my previous decor style included much more color. (I painted my first living room bright orange! All four walls!)

But, what I’ve come to realize is that I really love a neutral, natural home.

My style ranges from black and white modern, to shades of gray and coastal blue to accents of gold, I’ve decided for the base of my home, I love natural, textured furniture and decor through and through.

Natural is usually neutral and textured, the perfect combo for a muted palette that changes with the seasons.

The entry table that looks good with all decorations from spring to holidays, and the light woods that add richness to the room.

I love natural wood mixed with rattan and seagrass and seaglass and marble and burlap. I’ve realized that, just like a good salad, texture is what brings out the best in decor.

White built-in shelves with neutral storage containers and decor.

I’d say my home style is a melody of modern farmhouse with a touch of mid-century modern and coastal accents.

Natural jute rug on hard wood floors in dining area.

20 Neutral Home Decor Items For Your Home

I recently went down a rabbit home browsing neutral home decor online and want to share some of my favorite finds! Hope you enjoy this collection into a new gallery-style format!

1

Wooden Handle Hamper Basket Set

These light colored eco-chic baskets would be perfect for so many uses: laundry, toys, blankets next to your sofa, extra pillows. I love that they come in a set of three for continuity.

2

Pebble Texture Throw

This classic 100% cotton throw goes with any neutral couch and keeps the neutrals going itself.

3

Bianca Rectangle Tray

Not only are these trays useful for serving food, but they can even be used in the bathroom or living room as efficient storage decor (you know how much I love efficiency!).

4

Chunky Jute Rug

This is our living room rug - people ask me all the time where it is from! It's easy to disguise dirt and dog hair and very comfortable for sitting and playing.

5

Montauk Shamira Casual Cotton Rug

This rug would be sharp in an entry way, hall, or kitchen, and I love the contrast of black and white.

6

Opalhouse Rattan Lantern Candle Holder

There's nothing like a lantern to make a candle glow more beautifully. Put this on your porch or in the bathroom!

7

Rattan + Teak Bea Barstools

These versatile barstools have some rustic/beachy charm; I love the combo of the graywashed teakwood and woven seat.

8

Faux Fiddle-Leaf Fig

If you don't have a green thumb, but like the freshness that plants add to a room, this faux fiddle leaf fig plant, in a natural basket, makes any plant seem cozy.

9

Wooden Activity Table with Stools

I can see Mazen and Birch playing at this table now. It's light, bright, and the white powder-coated metal hairpin legs add a fun retro look!

10

Hearth & Hand Stripe Gray + Sour Cream Lumbar Pillow

I love an oversized lumbar pillow at the front of a bed - to divide the pillows from the duvet. This one is beautiful and a good size!

11

Container Store Water Hyacinth Cubes

You can never have too many baskets!!! These water hyacinth bins or cubes come in a variety of sizes and are so versatile when it comes to storing all the things - think toys, books, winter hats and scarves, you name it!

12

Wood Farmhouse Leona Extension Dining Table

A great price for a farmhouse table! This dining table is simplistic and rustic; since it's a large piece of furniture, it adds a bunch of brightness to your eating space.

13

Creswell Wood Console Table

I love the warmth this console would add to an entry. It's almost like a workbench - I love the shape!

14

Costa Mesa Round Rattan Wrapped Accent Table

I love rattan! This rattan-wrapped end table can work next to a sofa, in a corner, or as a night stand.

15

Alabaster Oak Light Beige Frame

These light oak picture frames with white matting are clean, classic, and would add lightness to a photo collage on your wall.

16

Esters Wood Arm Chair

This modern chair definitely says mid-century modern. I love the warm distressed finish on the wood and light upholstery - great for a reading nook or guest room.

17

Warwick 3 Door Accent Media Cabinet

This one is a bit darker than the rest, but I like that it combines wood and a textured front. Hide all your devices or entertaining pieces inside!

18

Threshold Gilford Two Drawer Night Stand

Drawers on a nightstand are a must for me. These sturdy yet simple nightstands check all the boxes.

19

Opalhouse Natural Textured Pouf

This square ottoman pouf combines a unique variety of textures - from tufts to tassels to beads - to create a lively look. Yet, I love that's it's very light and natural in color so you can move it around from room to room.

20

White Marble + Wood Paddle Cutting Board

This beautiful white marble and wood cutting board would be great for appetizers on the our porch - it's perfect for serving small bites with happy hour! (I wouldn't want to chop onions on it - too pretty!)

Great selections. Thanks ! So many geat ideas!
I’ve found plants like the snake plant (Dracaena trifasciata) for instance, is not only low maintenance
but indoor plants are Air-Purifying in addition to collecting less dust then fake plants.
    No green thumb needed.
Bringing nature indoors just does something to the entire space. Thanks again Kath!

Those baskets are sold individually. The cost for all (3) would be over $400. Yowzers
