It’s been a surprisingly go-go-go type of day around here!
After some cleaning/laundry/dishes type tasks, I took a shower and headed out on some errands – to Lowes and Whole Foods.
Look what I passed by! Kohr Bros! Too bad I was too full from pancakes to stop for a custard.
The only thing you see here that I bought at Whole Foods was bananas – we have a surplus of veggies and fruits! But I did get some needed pantry and dairy items and some fish for dinner!
I set out on another spray painting project when I returned to hear thunder roll. I looked at the doppler, which had rain coming right over us so I brought everything back inside. But it never rained!! Grrrr!
It took me forever to get an appetite for lunch – 5 hours after 10 am pancakes = 3pm!
But I still wasn’t too hungry, so I had a smoothie to pack at lot in at once. This is a huge salad’s worth of baby spinach, plus 5 fresh strawberries, half a banana, a handful of blackberries (why it turned purple!), a cup of milk and some ice. All blended and topped with Erewhon Raisin Bran and chia seeds.
I’m currently chowing down and am not sure I can finish it all!
As soon as I declare myself finished, we’re headed to Karen’s for some more housework!

Just had a salad’s worth of a smoothie myself! Slurped it all down…you can do it.
Wow!! Your produce looks so good! Is most of that from your garden?
I’m hoping my counter will look as lovely as yours when I return from the store! Envious of your garden, for sure…. (my wallet sure is)
I love the color of the shelf you used for your smoothie photos. Was that one of your recent painting projects?
Yes – TBA!
Oh man! Can I please have your counter full of produce? That looks amazing and delicious!!
Looks like a good smoothie! I always opt for smoothies when I can’t work up an appetite! Loving the array of delicious fresh fruits and veggies, I want to go rob one of your huge peaches (they’re so tiny here in Ireland!) Totally loving that bowl too btw!
Did you know there is another Kohr Brothers just East of Pantops?
I heard that yesterday!
Still working up the courage to try this SIAB thang…not sure why I seem to think it won’t fill me up, you haven’t lead me astray for brekkie options yet!
I rarely find food that will keep me full that long! Haha good pancakes!! Have a great rest of your day, Kath!
That smoothie looks beautiful! I have a ridiculous amount of kale from my garden right now (I have a similar fridge – think the whole bottom shelf full of kale!) so tried to stuff as much as possible into a smoothie this morning. The color of yours is much prettier than mine was
Out of curiosity, what different fruits + veg. do you not worry about refrigerating?
I don’t put bananas, tomatoes, stone fruits, avocados, potatoes or freshly picked garden stuff in. I put things like green beans, zucchini (normally), berries, greens, broccoli in.
i miss wham!
Ahhh. You are making me crave smoothies. I love putting some crunchies on top too…love that texture!
I had custard two out of the three days we were visiting family — yummy!!!

I completely forgot about Kohr Bros! I can’t even remember the last time I had it–must have been on the boardwalk at the beach! Wow way too long lol Your smoothie looks great–it almost looks more like chocolate than black raspberry purple
Ive never even heard of Kohr Bros …. but now I kinda wanna have what you wished you were having!
I just tried my first smoothie in a bowl last week. I’m hooked! For some reason I feel more satisfied eating it that way than in a glass.
That smoothie looks perfect right about now! I am on a smoothie kick right about now, always looking for new variations. Can’t wait to try it
I just adore your countertops in the kitchen.
I love that you serve smoothies in a bowl! So much better than just drinking them
Looks tasty…I love purple!
