I repeat: Happy Birthday to Matt!!
Tonight was a whole celebration in his honor 
We headed out to a special request of Larbs + Matt – a tiki bar with live music. It was quite the happenin’ scene!! All the seagulls in the area had showed up to play.
These gentlemen insisted I take their photo. I did, gave them a business card and told them to check Katheats.com for their photo. Here it is!
Larbs + mom got fruity drinks
And I got a wheat beer of sorts. It was just OK – better with the orange!
Thanks to our grandmother for treating us for the drinks!! She heard through the mom grapevine we were going to a tiki bar

Back at la casa! I have yet to touch the sand, but we went close to the water for a few photos.

Birthday presents set out!
Kanz and I were in charge of dinner tonight – a seafood risotto at Matt’s request!
Complete with shrimp, scallops and mussels seared in Garlic Gold and white wine
Plus risotto with parm cheese and kale with red peppers
Great Harvest Garlic bread on the side
I had a splash of wine with dinner

Larbs got him a fancy Bruster’s ice cream cake!
I had half a cone and a sliver – but didn’t quite finish it all.
We’ve got a early day tomorrow with a big pilgrimage to Bald Head Island for the day. Gotta get to bed!!

That is too funny that they wanted there picture taken. Looks like a fun time at the Tiki bar and looked like it was a happening place. Love your dress and you and Matt look like a perfect couple.

Aww, those photos with you and Matt are just too, too cute. I’ve only ever seen Tiki bars in cartoons… (Lilo and Stitch?!) but I never thought they actually existed in real life!
That ice cream cake is simply amazing. It’s so creative to put the ice cream cone itself in; Court and Whitney recently made a similar cake for their mom’s birthday over at Teens Eat – you should check it out!

Ahhh you’re making me seriously crazy for a beach vacation! I assume you’re on the East Coast… it looks so different than the West Coast beaches I’m used to.

Aw! I’m having a great time at the coast, but the familiar scenery of Carolina Beach makes me a wee bit jealous.
My dad and I have escaped the family during an afternoon to walk down the beach to that same tiki bar! Good times! 
Have a wonderful time and if you’re in the mood for ice cream, hit up Squigly’s, which is on the main road in a little white house.
