Sand In Sight

Nothin’ but sky and water!

IMG_6186 (640x427)

Our drive was uneventful except for a stop at a gas station that was missing its bathroom soap…

IMG_6144 (427x640)

IMG_6151 (640x427)

We made it to Wilmington in 3/45 hours and met Larbs and birthday boy MATT (!!) for a late lunch at one of our family traditions: The Pilot House.

IMG_6177 (640x427)

IMG_6158 (640x427) IMG_6166 (640x427)

Matt got a Harpoon…

IMG_6157 (640x427)

I got a lemony water…

IMG_6155 (640x427)

The scenery was just perfect

IMG_6153 (640x427)

IMG_6154 (640x427)

Cornbread + Biscuits! I had a cornbread, Matt a biscuit

IMG_6161 (640x427)

And for lunch, the Fried green Tomato + Goat Cheese Salad with peppers and almonds.

IMG_6171 (640x427)

Matt and I got the calamari to put on our salads (he got a spinach salad)

IMG_6169 (640x427)

I gave him a tomato and a goat cheese round and then added some calamari on top. It was delicious!

IMG_6173 (640x427)

IMG_6176 (640x427)

Loved the thick cornmeal crust on the tomatoes!

IMG_6175 (640x427)

We FINALLY made it to our house after much traffic and some grocery shopping

IMG_6185 (640x427)

How much food does one need for 7 days at the beach!? I brought a lot from home!

IMG_6189 (640x427)

Vitamix! Smoothies (and margaritas!) at the beach sounds just dandy all blended up.

IMG_6182 (640x427)

Fresh Market Coffee!!

IMG_6188 (640x427)

Great Harvest bread (hope we don’t run out!!)

IMG_6187 (640x427)

Off to participate in cocktail hour!

Hi! I always read and never comment, but I just wanted to say that I was looking at something on youtube (that was health related) and I noticed a familiar acronym pop up in the sidebar…and it was a video of a certain blogger freestyle dancing! I just wanted to say that it was AWESOME and you seem like so much fun. You always seem a lot more “grown up” than other bloggers (not a bad thing!), but this totally showed that you have a silly side as well. Loved it!

Amazing! I love the picture of you walking on the dock. It’s very relaxing but had a nice touch of “winder” to it if you know what I mean..like you know just by looking at the picture that you’re in for a nice vacation!

What a beautiful beginning to a holiday! Made more enticing to me because I’m in winter here in Australia. What I wouldn’t give for some sun, sand, and fried goat cheese…
