I *THINK* my pounding headache is about gone. THINK! It’s weird because I didn’t feel sick today or thirsty – just headache. We had no medicine in the house or I would’ve taken some!

This afternoon I worked away and required a snack:

Yogurt In A Jam Jar

IMG_1870 (640x427)

The last of my Bella Eats blackberry jam, plus Oikos, chia seeds, and almonds. It was awesome!

IMG_1869 (640x427)

Speaking of Bella, we met for a walk this evening! We have so many topics to talk about that we’d gone 45 minutes before we knew it! Bella is very cool :-)

I didn’t return home till almond almost 8PM, so Matt and I had a low-key dinner.

IMG_1878 (640x427) (2)

And I missed the daylight and had to resort to 100% artificial lighting. Booo! I need a light studio this winter…

But we did break out the cloth napkins!

IMG_1879 (640x427)

And we invited a big lamp to share dinner with us!

IMG_1883 (640x427) (2)

To munch, we had leftover Smoky Bean Soup topped with avocado, greek yogurt and salsa

IMG_1873 (640x427)

IMG_1876 (640x427)

Plus a side of local green beans cooked in….coconut butter and Garlic Gold!! OpenSky representin’ – and these are two products that I buy from myself on a regular basis. Both have been life changing!! The coconuty "sauce" was sooo good. I’m obsessed with that stuff.

IMG_1877 (640x427) (2)

For dessert…you’ll have to wait till the morning!

I’m working on some enhancements – a new KERF Favorites tab that will link to some of my favorite and noteworthy posts.

Including a whole page devoted to the Bears!! If you don’t know who the Bears are, you can find out all about ’em there.

I think my headache is back.

I don’t know if its the same where you live or not, but there are a *lot* of allergy problems going on right now. I wake up every morning feeling in a fog. Tired. Headachy. Drowsy. Blah!

Hope you’re feeling better soon. Headaches are seriously the worst!

2 holly @ couchpotatoathlete August 30, 2010 at 8:35 pm

Sorry about your headache — those are awful, especially when you can’t “cure” them with sleep, water or (in my case usually) caffeine.

I look forward to the KERF changes!

3 Heather August 30, 2010 at 8:35 pm

yay for a page about the bears! great idea!

4 Estela @ Weekly Bite August 30, 2010 at 8:36 pm

I hate those never ending headaches! Hopefully a good nights sleep will help!

Hope you feel better!

5 Emily August 30, 2010 at 8:36 pm

YIAJJ is an amazing innovation that I’m looking forward to at the end of my current blueberry jam jar :) I have been following your posts lately and an wondering how you strike a balance between your cardio training and yoga? I am a grad student so my schedule can be tight but I am trying to get my running milage up but also enjoy yoga for the stretching/flexibility/peace/sanity. I really want to get back into lean running shape but need my yoga too. Any suggestions?? Thanks so much :)

6 Kath August 30, 2010 at 8:38 pm

Lately I’ve been alternating days between yoga and running. I could just do those two for the rest of my life and be so happy! But I do prefer a bit more power yoga and less lay-on-the-floor types, so it’s a bit of a workout and not total rest.

7 Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday August 30, 2010 at 8:36 pm

I appreciate the info on the 3 bears after the apparent $h!+storm of comments that went down after I asked about the bears a while back. That was kinda awkward.

8 Kath August 30, 2010 at 8:37 pm

I did this post just for you :)

9 Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday August 30, 2010 at 8:39 pm

haha, thanks!

i have a stuffed sasquatch that my husband and i make funny voices with. he has his own personality. glad to know i`m not THAT weird.

10 Allie (Live Laugh Eat) August 30, 2010 at 8:37 pm

I’m gonna need a light studio too! I hate competing with the sun, esp. when it’s dark at 4:30pm!!! Love the hugh jass lamp you have on the table :)

11 Evan Thomas August 30, 2010 at 8:40 pm

That lamp is so romantic, lol
I love eating out of a jam jar so much more than a peanut butter jar. That super sweet bite at the bottom is just the best.

12 Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg August 30, 2010 at 8:41 pm

I hope your headache goes away :-(

That looks like a great fall dinner!

13 Chelsey August 30, 2010 at 8:42 pm

sorry your head hurst so bad – mine does too!

14 Cara August 30, 2010 at 8:47 pm

Hopefully a good sleep will clear that pesky headache.

15 notyet100 August 30, 2010 at 8:50 pm

i gonna try smoky bean soup soon,,,;-)

16 Kristy @ August 30, 2010 at 8:50 pm

Could it be a lack-of-caffeine-headache? Those are the worst. I’m off caffeine now, but when I was on…boy, those were no fun. Water, sleep, nutrients…nothing could cure them but more caffeine! :)

17 Kath August 30, 2010 at 8:55 pm

Actually…maybe. I did skip a day of coffee this week. But I did drink a lot of wine!

18 A Teenage Gourmet (Sami) August 30, 2010 at 8:54 pm

You don’t need a light studio, darling! Your pictures are great.

19 Laughter-Loving Stacy August 30, 2010 at 9:00 pm

mann i wish i had the money to keep all that food in my apartment!!! YUMMMM <3

20 Michaela August 30, 2010 at 9:07 pm

Ditto to the allergy reference in earlier comments. The same headache problem happened to me on Saturday. It was awful. I had caffeine, ran, showered, napped…all the usual cures but nothing worked.

21 Krystina August 30, 2010 at 9:12 pm

I’m glad you feel better! I had a headache for a week straight and it was torture.

22 Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter August 30, 2010 at 9:14 pm

All of the artificial lighting in my house is all yellow or orangish. I’m jealous how great yours is!

23 Kath August 31, 2010 at 8:05 am

You gotta touch them up in a photo program. Mine are yellow to start too. I use Windows Live Gallery, which is free, to touch up my photos

24 Heidi - apples under my bed August 30, 2010 at 9:14 pm

ooooh yum!! your yoghurt in a jar looks amazing! Cant wait to try that soon
Heidi xo

25 Jessica @ The Process of Healing August 30, 2010 at 9:17 pm

Yuck, headaches are the worst!!! I used to have chronic headaches and they are simply no fun.

26 Hannah August 30, 2010 at 9:17 pm

Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better – coconut, beans, and garlic gold must’ve had something to do with it :) Hope you get a good night’s sleep and feel stellar tomorrow!

27 Jessie August 30, 2010 at 9:17 pm

The new header and favorites page look amazing. They make me want to work on my skills!

28 Kath August 31, 2010 at 8:06 am

29 Mary @ Bites and Bliss August 30, 2010 at 9:18 pm

Hope your head feels better soon. :) Maybe getting away from the computer will help! I know my head sure hurts after staring at the bright screens.

30 Brooke - One Healthy Cookie August 30, 2010 at 9:18 pm

I love the bears’ escapades. They are so full of mischief!

31 Kim August 30, 2010 at 9:26 pm

I know you all went wine tasting, but it could be allergies too.

My husband had seasonal type allergies when we lived in Ohio and I didn’t. I never had allergies in any of the places I lived. Then we moved to Colorado and a altitude of 5430 ft and now I have seasonal type allergies and he doesn’t have ANY!

I take a homeopathic remedy by Boiron called Sabadil and it helps me so very much.

32 Kath August 31, 2010 at 8:10 am

I think it COULD be allergies – because it’s still here just a bit in the back of my neck. And I’ve noticed a bit of an on-and-off sore throat too. And we just moved to a higher altitude!

33 Gree August 30, 2010 at 9:34 pm

Those green beans looked so good, that’s just what you need for a headache, lots of vitamins!

34 Caitlin (EatFeats) August 30, 2010 at 9:39 pm

Dessert is intriguing! And I like the lamp…really sets the ambiance.

35 Wei-Wei August 30, 2010 at 9:46 pm

Ahhhh. I hope it’s not allergies! Fall is a’comin’…

36 Andrea August 30, 2010 at 9:46 pm

Hello. Found your blog via Philippa at Skinny Latte. Love it! Thanks for sharing. I fuckin’ love oatmeal and coffee; your blog is absolute food porn for me. :)

37 [email protected] August 30, 2010 at 9:59 pm

Cooking the green beans in coconut butter is such a great idea! I hope your head feels better!

38 Faith @ lovelyascharged August 30, 2010 at 10:16 pm

Dang, those shots of the soup are making me want to run downstairs and slice up the avocado I just bought. Now. At 11:15 PM. Tell me that’s normal.

39 [email protected]:// August 30, 2010 at 10:19 pm

Can’t wait to see what dessert was. It looks chocolaty and delicious. Glad you have made a new friend in the neighborhood.

40 Heather (Heather's Dish) August 30, 2010 at 10:45 pm

41 Maria @ Oh Healthy Day August 30, 2010 at 11:46 pm

44 Jenn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) August 31, 2010 at 12:10 am

I love avocado on soup/chili, so creamy and delicious. Who needs cheese? (me!) lol :)

So many KERF changes!! I almost don’t recognize it anymore. :(

45 Kath August 31, 2010 at 8:10 am

That should be a smiley face!!

Mmm, soups are so good when autumn is on its way!

48 Seglare in Copenhagen August 31, 2010 at 2:12 am

Haha, I love a page dedicated to the bears! It’s always good to know there are others who still socialize with the bears at this age, too. 😉

Hope you feel better soon!

53 Nicole, RD August 31, 2010 at 6:28 am

Yuck to headaches! I love the lamp shade at dinner…LOL!

54 Nicole August 31, 2010 at 6:38 am

Why do I keep forgetting about jar oats/yogurt! Such a good idea to get every last bite. I will remember to try next time!
PS loved your dinner guest, the lamp :-)

55 Stacey August 31, 2010 at 6:41 am

:( I hope your headache goes away soon! And the jam yogurt looks awesome, that’s such a great idea!
The lighting in my house is AWFUL, we are surrounded by trees, so I have to take every pic with lamps or overhead lights on

56 Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies August 31, 2010 at 7:41 am

Ohhh – that yogurt in a jam jar sounds so good – I’m just a blackberry jam freak so this is right up my alley.

57 Andrea August 31, 2010 at 7:55 am

You’re pretty cool too, Kath! :) Enjoyed our walk, looking forward to more soon!

58 Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin August 31, 2010 at 8:45 am

I can’t wait to finish a jar of jam so that I can make YIAJJ!

Sorry about the headache. :( Maybe it was weather related? I get them whenever the pressure drops.
