Until I got to the car place
Kelsey and I showered to look presentable and then she went on her way. I spent some time with Middlesex and then made a quick leftovers lunch before heading uptown to take my car to be examined. It’s been making a funny noise in the tires
I know this is my FOURTH Mexican meal in 7 days, but the cuisine is just the best!
I piled a bunch of veggies and leftovers on a very unhealthy tortilla leftover from the beach trip. Peppers, cucumber, corn, black beans, corn salsa, cilantro, 2 tbsp brown rice, and fiesta cheese.
Leftover filling –
Eaten with a few chips
Once at the car place I got the bad news that I needed new back tires. They were all worn, most likely an alignment problem. He showed me the underside of Marge
(my car) – how embarrassing for her!
Kelsey, my hero, picked me up so I wouldn’t have to wait at the car place and we are now at Caribou enjoying a hot beverage and our books.
I got Mango black tea. We’ll be waiting for the car place to give me a buzz to go pick Marge back up.
I had planned to do some fun cardio class for a workout tonight, but Karen is coming for dinner and it’s raining, so right now I’m leaning towards skipping it.
Adios!

I feel your pain. I hate car repairs, and tires cost an arm and a leg!
Your Mexican meal looks great! I agree, it’s one of the best cuisines out there.
I just love Mexican meals! I could eat taco saldas everyday!!
And don’t even get me started on chips and salsa.
I don’t blame you. I’ve been loving on some Mexican inspired salads recently too. I think the weather’s making me do it. Bummer about new tires, but maintenance like that is generally cheaper than waiting until it causes a bigger problem.
MMMmexican fiesta! Looks great to me!
That’s too bad about your car! Better safe than sorry though!
Sorry about the car, but the Mexican meal looks delish! Guac has to be one of the best foods out there!
Sorry about Marge! Hope you have a good day anyway!
Yeah, it’s better to find out about your car at the shop rather than on the road!
Oh geez…spending money when you didn’t know you were going to have to sucks… especially on cars!! But, I suppose you gotta do what you gotta do!
Great lookin’ lunch!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
ugh, I hate having to get new tires, but it’s good you got them before you got a flat driving down the road or something!
sorry to hear about Marge! At least you have a great friend, book and yummy coffee to keep you company!
Booooo! Car troubles are never fun!
Haha I wrote a blog post a few days ago about how I ate Mexican food for like, three dinners straight…and the scale reflected that (ah…sodium). Love it though…I think if you live in a border town, you have to!
Sorry to hear about your car. That really is a bummertown!!
All of your Mexi foods are healthy though so that’s a plus!! Sorry to hear about Marge
“He showed me the underside of Marge (my car) – how embarrassing for her!”
haha Poor Marge…she has been violated!!!
Sorry about the car trouble. But hopefully all of the Mexican food yuminess will make it better. It’s my favorite!! I could eat it all day every day =) Ok, maybe not but it is just so good!
So sorry about needing new tires, what a pain!
but you have such a good friend to come hang out with you.
Love your lunch it’s making me crave mexican food.
ah man, I hate car stuff like that. In the last two years, every time I’ve been to the garage I’ve never gotten away under about $300. Boooo.
LOVE the Mexican food. Drool.
Haha so cute…poor Marge…we all know how she feels though
Mango Black Tea is THE BEST! You have to try the Trader Joe’s kind. It’s one of my faves!
Your poor car
Car problems are the worst!! At least it happened on a day where you weren’t super busy!! Like finals!!!
sorry about the knew wheals, cars can be a pain!!! By the way hubby and I are celebrating Seis De Mayo tonight, and I am going to try out the filling!!!!
Sorry about the car! For some reason, I hate dealing with car issues!
I have been in the Mexican food mode too – sometimes I think i could eat it every day! Enjoy your afternoon with your book!
I hope you have a great rest of your day, despite the car troubles!
Sorry about the car — boo to car repairs.
Your lunch looks so fresh and tasty. Mm!
Skip th \e gym and enjoy the friend… way more fun!!!
Um, the only thing missing from your Mexican fiesta is the Tabasco sauce poured on each fork full!
Looks delicious – I could eat that every day and not get sick of it!
Mmmm MEXI. Nothing wrong with plenty o mexi meals in a week, nothing at all!
Sorry to hear about Marge though. Cars can be such a pain in the bum sometimes can’t they?!
Poor Marge. I too have had an alignment problem, but mine has been far more costly
Chris never gets sick of Mexican food, though I’m about a once per week girl myself.
That sucks about your car, but hopefully it will be running smoothly soon
How are you liking middle sex, it took me a while to actually finish it since school was getting in the way but in the end it was a pretty good read.
I’m curious: What made this tortilla unhealthy? Was it the white flour?
I heart mexican food, right know my wholefoods has a vegan mexican bar. SO BEYOND YUMMY, I had to take Mia, (jeep cherokee) aka missing in action, to the doc’s a lot when I first got her. She has been renamed cinnimon, cause she’s sweet and spicy.
Augh, sorry to hear about the car trouble. I just hate having to put extra money into something somewhat unexpected like a car emergency. What kind of car do you drive?
Mmm… I love the addition of the brown rice to your Mexican fiesta! Such a yummy and healthy burrito ingredient!
Gotta love Caribou Coffee!
That Mexican food looks amazing! I am contemplating ordering some tonight. Yum.

aww poor Marge!! I love those chips
Wow your mexi-meals from the last 24 hours have me drooling!!
Do you like Middlesex so far? i just read it and while there were some rough spots, I liked it!
Yummy Mexican food! Sorry about the tires. That is never fun to have to spend money on those, but at least you will be safe with new ones.
Bummer about Marge’s tires! Good lookin’ lunch though!
I could eat Mexican food every day, it’s that good!
Sorry about your car :/
That is sad about Marge!
How do you get all these emoticons. They are hilarious. It reminds me of a children’s book where they put in the picture instead of the word.
Also, what do you think of Middlesex. I had to read it for my book club and I could not get through it!
Mexican food is just too good!
Kay ,
That would be the shortening, i.e. trans-fats. There’s nothing wrong with white flour! But whole wheat is better. Trans-fats, however, are proven to be bad for health.
Heather,
Honda Accord.
Hangry Pants,
I copy them from Gmail

Yay – Mexican food is the *best*. Sort of makes up for PITA car troubles.
That is so weird — my first car’s name was Marge! She died, though, sadly. But good times were had!
I think definitely go with the smaller print — it’s modern and elegant at the same time and looks beautiful with the chair frame!
I’ve been meaning to read that book..
Ohhhhhh! I can do that – what fun! Thanks.
I loved the pics of the Mexican food. I always have tortillas on hand, and make quesadillas for my grandchildren frequently. I can wrap up lots of stuff into a tortilla for a quick snack, or use those same ingredients (leftovers) and fold them into an omelet.
