Just got back from a speaking engagement and luncheon at Karen’s Albemarle Rotary Club! She has talked about how much she loves going to rotary for years now, so it was fun to see what it was all about.
Before my talk, everyone enjoyed a nice buffet at the Boar’s Head Inn.
I filled up on salad, cottage cheese (can’t get enough!), fruit (ditto!) and some cheese slivers, plus tomato-y fish and rice.
Plus half a cup of cream of asparagus to warm me up!
Karen raves about the Boar’s Head bread pudding, so I had to give that a taste as well. It was quite good!
I presented an abbreviated version of my Real Food Talk to the group. I think it was well received because I got quite a few laughs out of them!
Back at home, blogging from the porch, with a belly rolling around as somebody wakes up from what must have been a nap!

Karen is looking fantastic!
She really does, especially in that adorable outfit!
Completely agree!!
So glad the talk went well and you enjoyed your time there
Yes! That outfit is so classy and flattering
Love those belly rolls…we still watch the videos we took of Lila moving and shaking in the belly! Crazy how much they can move!
I miss tomatoes, I used to eat them every day but after I was diagnosed with ulcer I said goodbuy to them
I can’t get enough of cottage cheese to, I actually bought a lemon flavored flax seed oil from WF and add a little to the cottage cheese, it is so good!
Sounds like a fun event!
The more people are educated on the benefits of ‘Real Food’ the better! I think eating ‘real’ is money well spent…I hope to live a long and active life for as long as possible. Keep up the good work!
It’s hard to tell food quality from photos, but I’ve been a guest at a few Rotary lunches, and that looks WAY better than any of the food I remember.
The lunch looks great! And tell Karen she looks fantastic in that colour!
Sounds like a great afternoon
Looks like a lovely lunch!
What a fun event! I bet they loved your presentation
I’ve never actually had bread pudding, but it looks so good!
You are missing out! If you can find a GF bread pudding you have to try it!
Haha I already started googling! Just found recipes so far!
I had some of their bread pudding lat Sunday at Mothers’ Day Brunch! It’s quite tasty!!
I can’t believe how beautiful Karen looks. She looks younger and more radiant every time you post a picture of her.
seconded! she looks devine. must be all that Vaseline she puts on her face at night.
I will never forget that that was her beauty secret to you. haha.

I love the spread of food! It sounds super yummy. I bet the club loved your talk!
Rotary club meetings..blast from my childhood! My parents were involved in their local chapter.
And the cream of asparagus sounds good!
Are those southern teas sweet or unsweet?!
Unsweet
Yummmm is that Boar’s head the same as the lunchmeat company?

Kath– I had no idea you had a blog! A friend and I were having dinner tonight, and we happen to be talking about bread in CVille and I was raving about your bread and how you too are an RD…of course she already knew and mentioned she follows your blog and loves your overnight oats! Hopefully, we can convince you to talk at a meeting next year:)
