Once you start you can’t stop…
I’m talking about painting trim…not drinking wine or eating buttercream frosting…although the phrase does apply to both!
I broke out some of our house paint to touch up some spots that had been repaired – holes, dings from trying to force our couch into a small door frame. And then I just got carried away. Everything looks so much better now!
Snapple
We picked up our good friend Snakey from the train station at dinnertime. He’s here for a wedding and had the evening to hang out during the rehearsal dinner. We headed downtown for dinner and not 2 seconds after arriving on the downtown mall, Snake yelled “ALBERS!!!” when we totally bumped into two more of their younger fraternity brothers (one just moved here and one is visiting).
3 turned into a fun dinner for 7 at Zocalo, one of my downtown favs!
Snake, Matt and I split a bottle of red [mid pour]
And of course had to get the Corn + Black Bean Relleno pepper. It is INCREDIBLY good!! With a red tortilla chip crust, smoked grits and a killer green sauce that must have cilantro involved. You must go to Zocalo and eat this! 50% of our table ordered it : )
We just drove Snake out to the Clifton Inn and are back and settled for the night at home.
Tomorrow I’m going on a really cool blog event that I’ve been wanting to do for years. It involves a farm. Any guesses!?

Are you doing the Stonyfield barnstorming tour this year?
i was going to guess stonyfield too! Although I actually have no idea where it’s located, I just remember someone else’s recap from it! Whatever it is, have fun!
it’s been a while since i’ve painted, but you’re right – you don’t stop!
That dish looks well worth the trip to cville!:)
POM tour? I’m guessing wildly and partly because I want to go to a POM tour myself
polyface farms maybe?
Relay’s Polyface tour! Have fun seeing the pigaerator and the happy chickens.
I have no idea what the blog event us but it sounds fun!!
Your dinner looks so good.
POM tour? Or stonyfield?!
Oh I love a good date night out on the town too
Yours looks yummy!
Does Stonyfield have something to do with it??
!
oooh have fun whatever the event may be! Dinner sounds really fun and I’ll just have to take your word for how delicious that meal was, it looks amazing.
I definitely agree – the phrase can apply to all three: drinking wine, eating buttercream frosting (YUM!), and painting the trim!
Have fun at the farm!
My guess is Polyface!
Blog event and a farm…apple or pumpkin picking with other bloggers? Have no idea…surprise us
Glad you got the dings painted and touched up…ahhh, such a good feeling to have perfectly painted walls and cross that DIY project off your list.
That pepper dish looks AMAZING! I have never had anything like that before!
That is such a unique, pretty dish! Was it spicy?
Not too bad
I might have to drive up from Richmond to try that restaurant, that dish looks SO FREAKING GOOD!!!
As long as it’s not the Stoneyfield thing
(if it is, sorry-that drives me crazy on other blogs, not a fan of it!)
Whether it is or isn”t ,have a nice weekend y’all!
It’s not Stonyfield, but what drives you crazy about that?
The Stoneyfield farm thing just smacks of commericalism and is like
a huge ad being held in our face.
I found it terribly annoying on other blogs. The more product placements I see
on blogs, the less I visit them.
(But that is just my personal opinion/rant) Thanks for letting me share it !
Sounds like a really fun time…oh, and that pepper looks SO good! I absolutely love cilantro!
Oooo I’m guessing Polyface farms, given the release of Joel Salatin’s new book??
i am so envious of your local, fresh restaurants! no idea what the special event is tomorrow, but i’m sure it will be fabulous!!
I know the feeling… When I start cleaning, organizing or making things neat, I cannot stop.
Happy Weekend
