Been at Ikea all day. 2 hour drive plus 4 hours of furniture!!! I don’t recommend going alone on a Monday. Packed a lunch for snacking.
At least there was ice cream at the end of the shelving tunnel!
Ready to hit the road back home… in I 95 rush hour : (

Good luck with your drive! mmm Ice cream cone…
Let the assembling fun begin!
Holy cow you bought tons of stuff! Have fun putting it all together
IKEA is bliss. Worth the drive. Have fun with the assembly!
I love IKEA, but have only been on a Saturday before, never a weekday.
Drive safe. Yum on the ice cream.
Well, at least you don’t have to sit in rush hour every M-F!
oh wow. GOOD luck! Have fun putting it all together!
Be happy you did not have a screaming one year old in tow!!!
Ahhhh yayyayay I am finally reading blogs again! Missed you g-frand. I had froyo today so we’re twinnies. Keep your head up, once you’ve got it all done with you’ll feel a milllllion times better <3
Yikes! What a long day! I am sending you some extra patience as you put all those fun pieces of furniture together!
Then again, with ice cream my child would have been very happy!
That was my least favorite part about living in virgina… Driving home on 95 to Pennsylvania to visit family… I would go through dc, Baltimore, then Philadelphia. Traffic nightmare. On a bright note… You have a picture perfect ice cream cone
That ice cream cone looks PERFECT!! I hope it eased some of the IKEA-driven anxiety!
Long day, huh? Ikea is a beast of a store. Least you didn’t go on a weekend, totally bonkers. Can’ wait to see all the shelves put together!
Yikes! I-95 in rush hour is not fun!! I hope you have something to keep you entertained…maybe thinking about the awesome furniture you just bought
To me, the ice cream cone makes it all worth it. I love soft-serve! <3
Impressed that you fit that all in your car! I need a trip to Ikea!
Had to pay for delivery for this trip!
IKEA delivers? I did not know. I want some Bedroom Furniture. Awesome!!!
oh no, kath! that traffic sounds miserable. on the upside, you did get an ice cream cone AND you have beautiful new furniture to show for your trip
You know, I’m always so excited to go to IKEA but once I hit the warehouse I remember why I hate going there, lol. Drive safe. Hopefully 95 will be nice today!
Can’t wait to see what you got! Is it for the bakery? Ice cream can usually cure most rough days for me
I can’t do Ikea because of all the options! I’d rather pick out ice cream flavors.
so jealous you got some ikea ice cream. i love it!
Icecream is a great way to end a day of shopping — a great stress-reliever

I-95, Yuck! I live in Stafford, just off of I-95 and try to avoid it at all costs. I haven’t been brave enough to trek up to Ikea, especially during rush hour. Go you!!
god ikea is exhausting! their ice cream is great – the meatballs not so much. i recently tried them again and they tasted like rubber.
Two hour drive to Ikea?! Oh my word! I know how exhausting it is to shop there without a major drive first. Brave woman!*
Ouch! That’s a long day at IKEA.
The results will be totally worth the investment in time and effort.
Their soft serve ice cream is always a must when I go to IKEA!
I have never been to Ikea and this is probably a good thing for my bank account!!! Lol
wow that reminds me of L.A. driving! I didn’t know they had ice cream~haha–never been there, figures
I love the vintage-ey-ness of the photos, especially your yum looking lunch! What is the sandwich?
Sunbutter + fig jam!! Fig newton sandwich
Love Ikea
Ikea has a really healthy cafeteria too!
Being in Ikea all day…alone. Oh, isn’t moving in “fun”? kidding!
I don’t enjoy Ikea, Home Depot, or even Bed Bath & Beyond when I “have” to get things and really need to get my projects done and all at once, i.e. Monday Ikea, Tues home depot, etc and that happens right after a move.
You’re doing AMAZING with all these projects!
Love IKEA ice cream….
That must have been intense! Richard and I so badly want to visit an IKEA to spruce up our home. Charlotte is the closest at 2 hours away!
ps- your blog is looking INCREDIBLE lately!
Worth the trip – but plan ahead on what you need!
that’s a loooong day…. but ikea is pretty awesome
love their furniture!
Wow, that doesn’t sound too fun. Although $1 ice cream sure is a pick me up
The only thing I like about Ikea is the soft-serve! So grateful for they’re stuff, but going there gives me a headache. Thank goodness for ice cream.
It’s amazing how much you can set an example of how much one person can accomplish with a lot of focus and hard work. Your home projects look great!
Thanks Becky
I do have the advantage of time on my side these days!
The first time we went to Ikea after purchasing our first home, we did the 2 hr drive from Cville, 7 hours in the store (ridiculous!),and then 2 hour drive home… exhausting but fun and successful! Hope you found some great stuff!
I didn’t know Ikea had softserve! How is it?
MMm ice cream alone is enough to get me to Ikea!
Even ice cream couldn’t get me to Ikea by myself!!
Snacks looked lovely though.
I’m pretty sure I could comfortably live in Ikea for the rest of my life, that place is awesome.
