I worked well into the night …last night. On a project I’ve been working on here or there for a MONTH!
The KERF Favorites Page
Complete with the newly updated 3 years of favorite posts and a travel page listing all the exciting places I have documented on the blog. It sure was a fun project, and it’s not entirely done!
This morning I woke up to sunbeams in my face – no complaints about that!
Put me in the mood for a glowing orange smoothie, made of pumpkin of course!
The Mix
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup Organic Valley drinkable yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup pumpkin
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Toppings: Ambrosial granola, mixed sugar nuts, roasted buckwheat
The whole time I was eating it I kept getting hints of creamsicle and wondered if I was dreaming I had one of these. I went through my ingredients to be sure, but nope, my orange was from pumpkin. And then I realized – I had used the Orange – Cranberry Ambrosial granola! It was a fab combo!
I decided NOT to go to Target last night due to the fear of rush hour at 5PM, so I’m headed there in a bit. Then recipe making! My mac n cheese won’t be involving pumpkin – but it does have Wisconsin brie involved!

Your breakfast looks great! And can’t wait to check out all of your hardwork!!
Wow, that sounds like some fancy mac n cheese Kath! I love the colour coordination of your brekkie this morning, and amazing job on the new pages!! I’m going to check the rest out right now. Have a great day!
Brie in mac and cheese is delicious!
I’m excited to see the mac and cheese! I’m making some tonight. It took me a longggg time to find one that wasn’t absolutely loaded in fat. This one actually calls for bacon in it but I think I’m leaving it out.
I love the toppings on that smoothie! I’m also having fun browsing around your KERF favorites page!
I love the bowl/napkin combo. The almonds on your smoothie sound so good and crunchy right now. I wish I had a vitamix. Giveaway?
I have been wanting a smoothie but just haven’t been craving it during this cold winter. I was just in a Florida for a few days and had one of the best fruit smoothies ever. It was nice to enjoy it in the warm weather. I think I am ready for Spring!
Can’t wait to check out your favorites page
Have a great day Kath!
Oh mac and cheese…how I miss thee! The smoothie looks and sounds perfect! Have a great day Kath!
The sun in shining up here in Fredericksburg too! It was a dreary weekend. Doesn’t it feel GREAT to finish projects? Have a happy and blessed New Year!
Mmmm mac and cheese is so dang good
I love your pages – I especially love the bear one
mac and cheese with brie? need i say more?
Yummie smoothie!! I was wondering if you have any exercise advise or if anybody has any thoughts~ First I was going to ask do you plan what you are doing though the week for exercise or do you just do what you feel like that day? I have my same routine that I do from week to week and take Sundays off typically. This is the question that I am needing help with~ is it smart to do 2 days sweaty cardio 2 days in a row for an hour each? I am not sure if it was too much cardio or being dehydrated but I was soo fatigued on Sat ( I chugged and chugged water on Friday night and Sat) Sat and Sunday I was retaining soo much fluild my jeans were unbearably tight! Yesterday I did I took a rest day and chugged more water and feel soo much better jeans fit again.
Any thoughts?? Thx! Heather
Heather,
It’s really impossible to recommend an exercise regime for someone without knowing everything about your lifestyle. I’d go by how you feel – if you’re feeling dehydrated, perhaps cut back a bit and increase liquids (maybe a little sports drink during your sweaty exercise for fluid and electrolytes too?)
What sports drink would you recommend? I have never used any before.
Thx,
Heather
Gatorade! Or I have a recipe for a homemade one in my Races page
Thank you I will check it out. Does that sound what dehydration can make you feel like. I was retaining lots( at least 6-7 lbs) of fluid~ I could barely get my jeans on!!
Heather
I heart Wisconsin cheese. But I’m biased…since I’m from Wisconsin. Can’t wait to see your recipe!
Oh my gosh, Wisconsin Brie in mac and cheese! Wahoo, that sounds good.
The new pages look great, love the pictures!
Yes, they are really cool, I wish I were more tech savvy seeing those!

The breakfast looks great!
Can’t wait for the mac-n-cheese!

I am waiting for your mac ‘n cheese recipe (no pressure or anything…)
Sorry to disappoint you but it’s for the mac n cheese website and won’t be up for a few weeks!
Love the new pages!! Excited to go explore them now. Oh how I love Target – might need to make a run there today myself!
Can’t wait to see what you create! I am definitely looking for some new healthy and easy meals.
ahhhhh your breakfast looks amazing. I love all the work you did to the blog. I truely look up to your blog.
I’m the same way – I intended on getting up early this morning to go to Target and avoid the rush…but now that it’s almost noon- I’ll probably wait until it’s closer to 2 before going…and getting out of there before 5!
I LOOOVVVVEEE your whole setup….the oatmeal, bowl, napkin, mug. Looks perfect
I love waking-up with sunshine in my face
That is a super cute mug by-the-way!
The turquoise background (I am assuming it’s a placemat?) of your pictures is SO pretty! Congrats on your new favorite’s page — I’m sure that took quite a lot of work
You just reminded me that I need to go to Target today too. The one right by my house just expanded to a Super Target and the grocery section seems pretty good! I’m so excited to check out all your new pages hopefully when I have a minute this afternoon. And I really love that bowl that you had your breakfast in.
Love the favorites pages! Cant wait to explore when I’m not supposed to be working.
Why can’t mac and cheese be pumpkin mac and cheese?! Haha!
I think 29 is pretty safe in terms of rush hour on a SUNDAY night
but good excuse. Love this sunshine.
Hahahah. I’m so used to the big city I just avoid it all the time
I can’t wait to read the new pages — you did a great job! I’m 26 weeks pregnant, and haven’t had any wierd or exciting cravings–except for CARBS! Especially cheesy carbs! Can’t wait to see what you have in store
Wisconsin Brie. Brilliant.
You always take the most beautiful picutures! Who knew a smoothie and granola could look so pretty
I love the pic of you holding the wine glass near your face–gorgeous photo. Also, I’m sure the bears are glad to have a category of their own!
What an exceptionally delicious meal! Glad you’re finally seeing some sunshine!
Awesome, I cant wait to read your new pages! Have a great day
Love the new pages!
Thanks for the recipe!
The new project looks fantastic!! You did a great job!
I totally skip errands to avoid traffic too!
I absolutely love the blue table ware! It makes everything look so cheery! Have a great day Kath

How fun, like the new page! I’ve been seeing lots of Angela’s smoothie and think I need to try it! Your breakfast looks great.
I went to Target yesterday in San Diego at 4pm…a total zoo! good call on your part waiting til today
Brie mac n’ cheese? That’s what dreams are made of. You must love the feeling of having your pages organized. I can’t wait to look through them!
Love your mug & bowl! Where did you find them? This looks so delish – I’ve got pumpkin back on the brain after a 6 week hiatus following pumpkin overkill this Fall!
Both are OpenSky
that’s funny, i just made mac and cheese with pumpkin and cottage cheese – it was actually quite creamy and delicious. cant wait to see what you got for us . . .
Love all your design accruements– dishtowel, napkin, dish-ware and of course, your pumpkin smoothie! I’ve never made a pumpkin SIAB with yogurt before…. maybe i’ll try using coconut kefir!
That’s a great combination.
I love that bowl!!! It’s so pretty!
Love the new blog design, Kath! Looks great…such beautiful pictures….Great job!
Making “favourites” lists is so much fun but does take so much time, at least for me, because I get so caught up in rereading and reliving my adventures!! Well done for getting started on yours
The toppings on your smoothie look amazing!
xoxo
I love the updates Kath. Your blog keeps getting better and better!
BTW – I love your spoon. I saw it and gasped!
I think I may have to head over to your shop and grab some Ambrosial Granola. The orange-cranberry flavor sounds divine.
I’m not a mac and cheese fan, but your recipe with brie might just convert me!
Love your set up, it looks so perfect! I saw your bowl and mug are on open sky, but what about that spoon? I would love to dig into some oats with that!
It’s an antique!
