Today was what Sundays are all about: relax, recharge, reflect, and eat leftovers!
Those of us who remained after the oatmeal brunch ended sat around and gabbed about life and blogs and food and how fun the day before was
Around 1:30, lunch was mentioned, and we broke out the party leftovers like the day after Thanksgiving.
Plus a pile of fresh chopped veg
I made an awesome bowl of mish
Heavy on the mosh!
Arugula, spinach, veggies, crackers, pita chips, hummus, cheese, root veggies, kale salad and lamb salami.
After lunch, Matt and I drove Meghann back to Richmond. It was a gorgeous fall day for a drive, and the miles went by quickly with chatter of Harry Potter and Disney World. I hope to visit Meghann in February! It was sad saying goodbye. I am so thankful to have had friends to travel to celebrate with me!
Once home I had a few pita chips..
And sped cleaned the whole house. Vacuumed. Took off sheets. Got laundry started. Spot cleaned floors + walls (walls!?). It’s feeling Real Simple again!
Dinner tonight was a heat-n-eat dish of more leftovers. Our party crockpot soup (which was SO GOOD made with the addition of 3 sweet potatoes!) topped with greek yogurt and goat cheese for some protein and some toasted croutons for crunch. Yum!
Just popped a square of dark chocolate and am calling it a night. I am so tired!! Would it be bad for me to go to bed at 8PM? Ohhhhhh – how about a bubble bath first!!! Maybe I’ll clean the tub at the same time…. ![]()

It’s never bad to go to bed at 8pm… that’s like my standard time. Me = granny.
Same here.
I’m 22 and me=granny.
Who knew I’d grew up and fall completely head over heels in love with sleeptime?!
Huh.
I love going to bed early, but 8pm is toooo early for me. I try to make it to 9 at least
Long car rides don’t bother me much, unless I am driving alone. But if I have Jason or a friend/family member with it just flies by!
I should move to Cville and be your official hand model
THANKS for such a great weekend!! I had a blast gabbing about all things blogs and food.
The cookies are gone. Whoops!
haha – you should! Perhaps kneading some GH bread!?
My cookies are now frozen!
I’m SERIOUSLY considering it…if you and Matt are serious too! I’m already in love with Cville.
I want some mish mosh too haha. That looks like a great mix of a bunch of yummy foods!
Looks like a terrific bowl of mish-mosh. I’ve loved reading everyone’s posts from this weekend- it all looks so fun!!
Ooh, I wish I could go to bed at 8PM! If I could, I so would go to bed that early!
I love soups during the fall; they only get better and better as the days pass!
I was definitely contemplating going to bed right about now, too. I think I shall but I’ll take a book and cup of tea with me.
I would totally support your decision to go to bed at 8 p.m.!
What a great weekend!! Absolutely nothing wrong with going to bed at 8 pm!!
I am with you, I plan on being in bed momentarily! It was a big weekend for me too but I am bummed I couldn’t hang out with you and all the other lovely ladies more.
Sounds like a fabulous day!
It must be so great to get the chance to hang out with a great blog friend like that. I love spending time with people who get the same interests. Glad the two of you had such a fabulous weekend!
Going to bed at 8pm is perfectly acceptable
Goat cheese + greek yogurt sounds amazing! They are two of my favorites!
oh no! I love going to bed early and reading in bed until my eyes get tired!
I love party leftovers. Makes for easy but fun and tasty quick meals.
What a wonderful weekend indeed!!!
Dinner looks especially wonderful!
There’s nothing wrong with going to be at 8! I went to bed at 6:30 2 weeks ago just because I was bored
i’m totally feeling the early to bed thing tonight as well….

Looks like you had an awesome weekend! It’s not bad to go to sleep at 8 p.m.! I wish I could do that every night! :0) I love Disney World chatter too, by the way! Those are the best!!!
Exactly what Sundays are for- relaxing! I wish I could say mine was the same way..but errands and studying took it up. Ohh well
Meals in a bowl always look so good on KERF.
party crockpot soup looks so yum,.
It looks like you had a fabulous birthday weekend Kath. Happy Birthday once again!
I do the same thing if I’m super tired, it gets to 8pm and think about going to bed – I reckon if you have a bath then bed its usually at least 8.30pm which is acceptable lol
I haven’t gone to bed that early since I was a kid. But then again, I don’t wake up early enough to warrant going to bed at 8.
i never think of adding yogurt to soup for protein! glad you had a wonderful weekend. i wanna go to disneyworld and harry potter land too!!!
I *wish* I could fall asleep at 8! Sounds divine and totally worthy.
wow that salad looks great!!! Ive been making my own rendition of the panera orchard harvest salad lately- so great.
I had the same soup for lunch. I made it in the crockpot last week & froze a bunch of it into individual portions. It is so good.
Your birthday weekend looked wonderful! It’s so amazing that blogging has brought you close with so many wonderful people who share your passions and are also willing to make the trip to be with you on your day
Enjoy the evening and have a great bday week
I love your spoons! Such a little thing but makes meals so much more enjoyable!!
I love mish-mosh lunch salads! I make them all the time to use up leftovers before they go bad. I have to make your crock pot soup- it looks so hearty and delectable, I’m almost drooling over the pictures…
Early bedtimes are mandatory on Sundays.
I agree with Katie! Early bedtime (and/or afternoon naps) are definitely mandatory on Sundays!
Bubble bath + 8 pm bedtime sounds so perfect!
It so nice that you have friends who will come and visit you! I wish I had better luck convincing more of mine to come out and visit me. ;D
Okay, our leftovers growing up *never* looked as good as that! Envy!
Sundays are all about relaxing and going early to bed, specially after a weekend filled with activities like yours
Wow… It all looks so delicious. Especially the mish mosh lunch bowl!
And I think 8pm is a perfectly acceptable hour to sleep haha
xxx
I agree with the others that said that 8pm is a great bedtime. I always go to sleep between 8 and 9pm. The result is that I am up at the crack of dawn but I am so much more a morning person!
Great friends are hard to come by and when you find them you definitely hold on. It is always saying good bye even if it is only for a little while. I hope you have a nice evening and got some rest! Have a great week Kath!
I love your random lunch! The best thing about parties is always the leftovers the day after.
I love random lunches, birthday weekends, and ending the day with dark chocolate and a bath. Your day sounds totally perfect.
I go to bed at 8 pm all the time. Especially when I have been running and working out early that morning.
