Happy Hour

Hoping this lunch hour is a happy one!

IMG_5187 (640x427)

I couldn’t help but repeat the same salad I had yesterday: spinach, bell pepper and luscious lemon Sabra hummus. I LOVE this flavor of hummus!!

IMG_5188 (640x427)

But the sandwich was new!!

IMG_5193 (640x427)

Leftover Mother’s Day picnic brie with apple butter and organic micro greens from Emily‘s farm!!!

IMG_5190 (640x427)

I am anticipating this as a killer sandwich!

IMG_5196 (640x427)

A peachy peach brought over by the infamous Karen [my mother in law]

IMG_5198 (640x427)

And a foggy lens!! You would be proud: we have our AC on now 🙂

Friday dance is going 100 mph today!

The sandwich looks fabulous — glad that you’re reaping the benefits of Emily’s time on the farm 🙂 I have to say, what impressed me was your time without the AC (ours is on now, too). If we lived in a frame house (ideally with good insulation in the walls), we might stand a chance, but the brick apartment makes it really tough. Brick ovens are great for baking pizza and bread, not so great as a place to live 😉

    kath,
hate to be a stickler for vocab, but infamous is not the same as famous. infamous has a very negative connotation (ie. criminal, malevolent, evil) — so you might not want to use it to characterize your mother-in-law, unless you mean it!:)

I meant to ask you a question about kombucha when you last tried it but didn’t get a chance til now…did you have an stomach/digestive reaction to the kombucha (feel free to give as little or as much detail as you want)? Just wondering if it might upset a sensitive digestive tract, have others found it improves digestion/regularity??

I can totally see with the floating fermentation bits how one would have digestive troubles drinking kombocha. But I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary!?

Apple butter and brie! Wow! I usually prefer stronger-flavoured cheeses to brie, but I can see that the subtle sweetness of apple butter would really play well with brie’s creamy nature. Win!
