French + Floral

May 28, 2011

French toast for a beautiful morning!!

Many nights when we get in bed I ask Matt: “What do you want for breakfast?” You might think it’s too early to be considering breakfast, but since I’m always the first one up I’d rather ask him then than wake him up from a snooze in the AM!

His reply: “Cinnamon Chip French Toast”

So first thing this morning I got to work!

Topped with mashed grilled banana, granolner and sunflower butter!!

With a floral garnish ; )

I also brewed Choffy mixed with coffee!! 2/3 choffy and 1/3 coffee. Matt had his iced and said he could taste the chocolate but thought it tasted just like coffee. This cup was stronger than last week’s and I liked it lots.

I am SUPER exciting to do housework today!!! 3 loads of laundry and some cleaning + organization. My favorite pasttime when life gets busy!

But first – to the market!

That breakfast looks divine. I am always thinking about breakfast as I lay in bed at night. It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning. That plus a strong cup of coffee!

2 Miranda @ Working Mom Works Out May 28, 2011 at 8:22 am

Me, too! That’s b/c the busy doesn’t seem as bad when my house is clean. Weird.

10 Christine May 28, 2011 at 8:55 am

I rarely enjoy housework, but when I was working on my master’s my house was spotless because I preferred that to paper-writing!

11 staceyhealthylife May 28, 2011 at 8:58 am

Enjoy your day of catching up around the house.

12 Coach Brian May 28, 2011 at 9:04 am

Looks positively yummy! I once had Banana & Nutella stuffed French Toast after a race. I think it was the best post race meal ever.

13 Alyssa May 28, 2011 at 9:04 am

I love cleaning too :-) Something about mindless work with a quick perception of how much you’ve accomplished is so gratifying!

14 Amanda May 28, 2011 at 9:25 am

I love the accent on your plate; very beautiful and classy =) I love reading your blog every day.

15 The Teenage Taste May 28, 2011 at 9:27 am

17 Averie (LoveVeggiesandYoga) May 28, 2011 at 9:32 am

“3 loads of laundry and some cleaning + organization. My favorite pasttime when life gets busy!”–

A little tongue-in-cheek but honestly, I do love to organize and stay on top of things when life gets crazy. At least if my house is clean and neat, I feel like something is going right :)

18 Molly @ RDexposed May 28, 2011 at 9:35 am

I want that mug! And I get excited too when I finally have a good amount of time to tackle housework!

19 Gina @ Running to the Kitchen May 28, 2011 at 9:41 am

We have the same discussion each night too. I love looking forward to breakfast the night before! Enjoy your day at home.

20 Lenna May 28, 2011 at 9:57 am

21 Angela (Oh She Glows) May 28, 2011 at 10:02 am

I wish I had your enthusiasm for cleaning. Im doing a huge Spring Clean today and all I can think about is how much I want to be outside right now! It does feel awesome though when it’s done…a great way to get the weekend off on the right foot.
Loving the floral garnish :)

22 kaila @ healthy helper! May 28, 2011 at 10:22 am

So is cinnamon chip cinnamon bread with chocolate chips or bread with cinnamon chips?!?! Either way its gotta be amazing!

23 KathEats May 28, 2011 at 10:45 am

It’s cinnamon bread with cinnamon chips!

24 Rebecca May 28, 2011 at 10:23 am

When you can work around bread 24/7, plan bread, bake bread, and slice bread all day long and STILL crave bread for breakfast, you know you are in the right business!

25 Michelle (The Runner's Plate) May 28, 2011 at 10:44 am

I love cleaning and doing laundry. I love the feeling of being organized and having everything in its place!

26 Kate (What Kate is Cooking) May 28, 2011 at 10:52 am

I have that bread and am planning to make French toast out of it too :)

27 Tori (Fresh Fruition) May 28, 2011 at 10:57 am

French toast is the best. I love how much it reminds me of being a kid and watching my dad dip the bread in the eggy cinnamon mix :)

28 Namaste Gurl May 28, 2011 at 11:04 am

Mmmm, french toast.
Have a great and successful day! :)

29 Anastasia May 28, 2011 at 11:04 am

I love the french toast and the little flower decoration.. so cute! I’ve never thought to try my coffee substitute mixed with a tiny bit of coffee. That may be a good compromise to all the caffeine I’ve been drinking lately!

30 Estela @ Weekly Bite May 28, 2011 at 11:10 am

Love the flowers on your breakfast plate :) Such a pretty touch!

31 Natalia - a side of simple May 28, 2011 at 11:12 am

Pretty sure this should be a breakfast option at the bakery….just sayin’ ;)

32 lynn @ the actor's diet May 28, 2011 at 11:19 am

i’ve got a load of laundry still waiting to be folded from 2 nights ago.

33 SquatLikeALady May 28, 2011 at 11:22 am

I always plan out my hubby’s breakfast the night before too! :) That is, when I’m up before him haha. Normally he has to be to work by 5am and I snooze until about 6 so we miss each other by two hours.

34 khushboo May 28, 2011 at 11:38 am

I totally plan by breakfast the night before…9 out of 10 times it involves oats. It’s just a matter of deciding what form

35 Kristi @ KristiAteIt May 28, 2011 at 11:58 am

That french toast looks delcious!
Cleaning is actually one of my favorite things to do. Well, when the weather isn’t gorgeous out (like today!) I think I like it so much because of the end result.

36 Morgan @ moments of mmm May 28, 2011 at 12:04 pm

I have got to try this grilled banana! Do you slice it in half or anything? Or just throw it on straight up.

37 KathEats May 28, 2011 at 2:04 pm

Yeah, in half so there’s a flat side

38 Holly @ The Runny Egg May 28, 2011 at 12:09 pm

I usually plan out my breakfast the night before — if I wait until the day of I tend to choose breakfast which does not keep me full!

39 Holly @ The Runny Egg May 28, 2011 at 12:09 pm

OK that is supposed to say I choose cereal which does not keep me full :)

40 Kristen @ Change of Pace May 28, 2011 at 12:30 pm

I love making french toast with banana bread. I can’t imagine what cinnamon chip would be like! YUM!

41 Katie May 28, 2011 at 12:31 pm

The french toast looks amazing! I can not remember the last time I had french toast!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

xoxo <3

42 Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife May 28, 2011 at 12:54 pm

mmm French toast on a Saturday. Perfection.

I also choose when I am in the kitchen (deciding what to eat)…I guess I am lazy about that? ha

43 Michelle May 28, 2011 at 2:23 pm

now I want french toast…hmmm, well it is lunchtime!

44 Emma (Namaste Everyday) May 28, 2011 at 4:46 pm

two things I love about this post:
1. French toast. I make it for dinner when I want something quick and comforting!
2. Cleaning. It’s INSTANT gratification! I always do it when I’ve been busy and stressed, too :)
What a great Saturday!

45 Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin May 28, 2011 at 6:05 pm

I always like to decide on breakfast the night before too. It gives me something to look forward to in the morning!

46 diana@mymarblerye June 3, 2011 at 7:22 pm
