Anne P is here!!
She and her beau, Matt, take an annual trip to Cville. This year they decided to book a night at B&B KERF! We’re thrilled to have their company. Also, we provide nutritious and delicious breakfasts!
Also, we have a trampoline as an exercise room!
Which may have been inspired by our complimentary cocktail hour beers…
First stop on the tour was a little wine tasting – to Jefferson Vineyards first!
Where Cheddar Garlic was already present! Allison was sampling a few of the mini loaves we sold to J.V. for their busy weekends.
Next stop was Blenheim Vineyards. I was the designated driver, so I just had a few tiny sips.
Once back within walking distance of Cville, we walked downtown for dinner + drinks
And straight to Commonwealth and Skybar – Cville’s newest downtown extravaganza!
We got our name on the list and headed up to the Skybar
[Loved the ‘no smoking’ sign!]
Drinks all around!!
Manhattan for me, beers for them (fancy beers that required stemless glasses!)
Soon enough we were buzzed for dinner
We absolutely LOVED the ambiance, menu and service at Commonwealth!! New favorite restaurant!?!?
We ended up sharing two appetizers between us –
Scallops, Arugula and Chorizo
And Lobster + Crab Cakes. Both were amazing!!
We also shared a bottle of this red – three cheers for the Alexander Valley! Can’t go wrong with Sonoma wines..
For dinner I had the fish special – a skewer of fish with a bourbon-brown sugar glaze and coconut rice
GAH this was incredible!! So was Anne’s Lamb, Kanz’s Pork and Matt’s steak. Everything was incredible!!!!
Our dinner was outstanding – can’t wait to go back!!
For dessert, we ventured over to Splendora’s for some gelato – specifically Tiramisu and Pumpkin Gelato!!
It was everything I hoped for.
And with that, I wish you all a good night!

Love the first pic of anne and you! You two are so lovely!!!
That looks like a great day!
Glad you enjoyed it! I’m sure Anne will have a great stay at the B&B
We give the KERF B&B 5 stars!
xo
So glad to see the trampline got some use! With your cooking and decorating skills you should really consider opening a bed and breakfast:)
Both of you look beautiful in the first picture!
It was a lovely day for that sort of outing. I’ve started horseback riding recently and the farm shares property with a vineyard. Although I can’t drink, it is absolutely beautiful to look at! Have a great Sunday, Kath!
Love you blog Kath. I am usually too shy to comment but I couldn’t help correct you on where you wine came from. Anderson Valley is in Mendocino County and not Sonoma.
Oh bummer…I am confused with Alexander Valley!! This was from the Russian River…will change post!
Oh wait..I did say Alexander!! Indeed in Sonoma!
I’m so sorry, I read Anderson Valley (otherwise known as Boonville). You got it right! I must be missing home (I great up in Mendocino County).
Commonwealth looks awesome! Hope we can make it over sometime
Glad you and Anne (and Mattx2) are having a blast!!
What an amazing day! I love all the photos!

So fun! Loved Blenheim when we went this past spring!
What a fun day!! Love nights out with good friends. The bourbon-brown sugar glaze sounds delicious.
Ah I wish I could go on wine tastings, I love getting flights at wine bars! And that restaurant looks like a great place to hang out for a drink! And clearly dinner…

No smoking is my favorite sign to see… for real.
This looks like such an amazing night- good friends, good food, and good drinks! What more could life offer?!?!
Looks like an awesome time! It’s always fun to have outta town guests.
Sounds like a fun time. I enjoy wines from all over. Right now, my preferred red is Apothic Red. So good.
That restaurant looks absolutely amazing!! And so does C-Ville. Looks like my kind of town!

Love the pics with the stemless beer! The composition and lighting is gorgeous. Must frame
How fun!! I love that you all jumped on the trampoline – I totally would’ve been on there too! That first photo of you and Anne is so cute. I like your outfit with the necklace and all – very cute.
How far in advance do bookings at your B&B need to be made?
1 year
What a fun & delicious day!
The seafood dishes look fabulous!!!
ahh what a fun time together!! The pictures of all the actions are so cool~I love how lively they look. :_
Lobster + Crab Cakes, Tiramisu Pumpkin Gelato, time with Anne, the vineyards, the shared bottle of red (Sonoma rocks. I love it there)…your day looks fabulous.
I also love the turquoise necklace you’re wearing. Looks perfect with your red shirt. So pretty
In my neck of the wood (Quebec, Canada), it is prohibited to smoke pretty much everywhere but in your own house. Bars and restaurants included. I take it for granted and I feel sorry for you guys when I see that you have to deal with second hand smoke at restaurants. Good thing this new spot has a strict policy!
Well I think most states have outlawed it in restaurants now – but only 5 years ago that was not the case so I still am surprised/elated to see no smoking signs!
I wish it were like that everywhere! I get so annoyed when people walk out of a restaurant, store, etc. and stand right at the doorway to smoke so that EVERYONE walking in or out inhales it. I sometimes make an obnoxious production out of waving it out of my son’s face.
Headed to C’ville for Thanksgiving weekend and all these stops may need to be on my list!
wow! looks like such a fabulous meal!
Trampoline jumping! My students and I were just talking about them I and I was always too scared to do anything besides just jump. I thought I would injure myself. I was a very hesitant child.
Great pics!! Sounds like a fun time
Aw, love Anne! Glad you guys had a great night.
Love the pics! What a fun time…it must be grand going out to eat with fellow foodies.
Haha I’m glad you guys are finally putting your trampoline to good use!
That restaurant looks fantastic. I love the feeling of finding new favourites!
I want to go there!!!
Come visit!
I just bought a $36 beer yesterday. I should probably use similar fancy beer glasses as those!
Wow – which beer!?
A magnum of Chimay Blue from 2010. Just put up pictures of the gorgeous lady!
Niiiiice!
Wine, beautiful weather, and delicious food?
Sounds like a pretty perfect Saturday to me!

first of all, LOVE both your tops… so cute. secondly, you cannot go wrong with alexander valley wines, they are my have. and finally, no better way to end the night than gelato!
Looks like a lot of fun! I’ve been to a wine tasting a a local vineyard and it’s a lot of fun. I hear there might be another opening in our area soon. Looking forward to it!
Sounds like such a fun day. I love the atmosphere of that restaurant. It looks like a great place!
I love your shades

Gee, I wanna stay at your place too!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!
we went to skybar friday for a drink after work, and i thought it was really cool, too. very laid back, but still had an upscale feel…loved it. good to know the food is good; next time i’ll get something to eat!
I don’t know when exactly it was but Illinois has been smoke free for some time, which I appreciate when I go out to dinner but I do feel bad for smokers because smoking isn’t illegal, they should have the right to smoke if they want to at places like bars and outside at restaurants because in reality it doesn’t effect us that much! I am in no way supporting smoking just saying that unless it is illegal I don’t think it should be banned from all places!!
Kath, I love your necklace! Big colorful beads are my thing….and yours is such a great color!
Thanks!
Cute pic of the two of you at the beginning of the post!
Looks yummy
