Commonwealth

Anne P is here!!

IMG_8940Blog

She and her beau, Matt, take an annual trip to Cville. This year they decided to book a night at B&B KERF! We’re thrilled to have their company. Also, we provide nutritious and delicious breakfasts!

Also, we have a trampoline as an exercise room!

IMG_8918Blog

Which may have been inspired by our complimentary cocktail hour beers…

IMG_8920Blog

First stop on the tour was a little wine tasting – to Jefferson Vineyards first!

IMG_8931Blog

IMG_8927Blog

Where Cheddar Garlic was already present! Allison was sampling a few of the mini loaves we sold to J.V. for their busy weekends.

IMG_8928BlogJeffersonBlog

Next stop was Blenheim Vineyards. I was the designated driver, so I just had a few tiny sips.

BlenheimBlog

Gorgeous setting!
IMG_8951Blog

Once back within walking distance of Cville, we walked downtown for dinner + drinks

IMG_8952Blog

And straight to Commonwealth and Skybar – Cville’s newest downtown extravaganza!

IMG_8956Blog

We got our name on the list and headed up to the Skybar

CommonweathBlog

[Loved the ‘no smoking’ sign!]

     IMG_8967Blog IMG_8969Blog

Drinks all around!!

IMG_8974Blog

Manhattan for me, beers for them (fancy beers that required stemless glasses!)

IMG_8975Blog

Soon enough we were buzzed for dinner

IMG_8977Blog

We absolutely LOVED the ambiance, menu and service at Commonwealth!! New favorite restaurant!?!?

IMG_8983Blog

We ended up sharing two appetizers between us –

Scallops, Arugula and Chorizo

IMG_8984Blog

And Lobster + Crab Cakes. Both were amazing!!

IMG_8981Blog

We also shared a bottle of this red – three cheers for the Alexander Valley! Can’t go wrong with Sonoma wines..

IMG_8992Blog

For dinner I had the fish special – a skewer of fish with a bourbon-brown sugar glaze and coconut rice

IMG_8995Blog

GAH this was incredible!! So was Anne’s Lamb, Kanz’s Pork and Matt’s steak. Everything was incredible!!!!

IMG_9000Blog

Our dinner was outstanding – can’t wait to go back!!

For dessert, we ventured over to Splendora’s for some gelato – specifically Tiramisu and Pumpkin Gelato!!

IMG_9001Blog

It was everything I hoped for.

And with that, I wish you all a good night!

Both of you look beautiful in the first picture! 🙂 It was a lovely day for that sort of outing. I’ve started horseback riding recently and the farm shares property with a vineyard. Although I can’t drink, it is absolutely beautiful to look at! Have a great Sunday, Kath!

Love you blog Kath. I am usually too shy to comment but I couldn’t help correct you on where you wine came from. Anderson Valley is in Mendocino County and not Sonoma.

In my neck of the wood (Quebec, Canada), it is prohibited to smoke pretty much everywhere but in your own house. Bars and restaurants included. I take it for granted and I feel sorry for you guys when I see that you have to deal with second hand smoke at restaurants. Good thing this new spot has a strict policy!

Well I think most states have outlawed it in restaurants now – but only 5 years ago that was not the case so I still am surprised/elated to see no smoking signs!

I wish it were like that everywhere! I get so annoyed when people walk out of a restaurant, store, etc. and stand right at the doorway to smoke so that EVERYONE walking in or out inhales it. I sometimes make an obnoxious production out of waving it out of my son’s face. 🙂

I don’t know when exactly it was but Illinois has been smoke free for some time, which I appreciate when I go out to dinner but I do feel bad for smokers because smoking isn’t illegal, they should have the right to smoke if they want to at places like bars and outside at restaurants because in reality it doesn’t effect us that much! I am in no way supporting smoking just saying that unless it is illegal I don’t think it should be banned from all places!! 😀
